Picked up my first Tacoma today after wanting one for a few years now, a super white 2014 Baja DCSB. This is actually my first truck at the ripe old age of 37! Seems like I always found a legit reason to settle for an SUV up until now. Looking forward to making some cosmetic changes soon, with some help from you guys finding good parts at good prices.

I think among the first things I want to do are get rid of the chrome grill surround (not decided yet whether to go white or black), a TRD Pro style grill insert, some more modern looking headlights and taillights with the LED bar inside, and make the rear bumper chrome go away in favor of black. Also looking to get some LEDs for the interior lights and some all weather floor mats. I can see how having one of these trucks can be bad for your wallet!

Oh and I think being almost 40 I'll end up peeling the giant baja decals off when it warms up here in Michigan. I might have kept them on twenty years ago but it's a bit too much for me these days. I was just happy it already had a modest lift with some beefy wheels and tires and dark enough window tint when I first laid eyes on it. I'll keep the smaller, more tasteful TX decal just to make it clear to everyone it's still a baja edition lol.

Anyway I'm so excited to finally be a part of this club! Here's a picture I snapped today if I can get it to load right:20190313_165757.jpg

Nice truck! I'd suggest going with a color matched grill surround for your grill plans. Just google some pics of different set ups though and you'll get a good idea of what looks good to you.

    Thanks guys!

We'll see how much they grow on me in the next month or two. It's just so busy looking

Don’t take off the one thing that makes it cool. Here is a pic of your truck on the showroom floor2C009BB3-676C-45BD-92FA-AED1B3629BC9.jpg

Believe me I've been looking at a lot of pictures since it hit me that I might be able to get myself in a taco! You're probably right though about white over black. Is the general consensus around here still to get an OEM grille surround for about $190 at Camelback? Or is there a better/less spendy alternative I haven't heard about yet?

I'll take it into serious consideration. The embarrassment level I saw from my son today could help sway the decision in favor of keeping it on

Side question, are the "likes" on here worth anything special or are they more of just like a casual head nod kind of thing?

Not that I know of but I think you should start a poll.... decals on or off; yes or no would be interesting to see but you know my answer

Tell you what, I'll leave them on until I get pretty close to my ideal stormtrooper truck, then if I'm still on the fence I'll throw up a poll. Hopefully I'm pretty close by the end of summer

Beautiful truck! As others mentioned, I'd color match the grille and potentially the rear bumper and call it a day until you want to mod it!

Welcome. keep the decals. Without them its just another white Taco. Maybe consider loosing those chrome steps and adding some black sliders. Either way still a SWEET TACO.
