Coming from a pro owner, I love my fox shocks and have no reason to change them, BUT if I was to swap suspension I'd go with icon's

If you do a little more research and ask a few guys who have had them you will probably hear Icons aren’t that good compared to what’s out there and their customer service is horrible. ADS, Kings, Bilstein 8112’s are all better shocks IMO

    Hey bud,

Welcome to TW. FYI, if you put @ before someone's name, it will tag them.

    ie: @Prjct_Vodo and @Tacotrd2017

You can also quote their post as I have done to yours, so they get a notification.

As to your question, I have a 2017 OR. I swapped out the suspension for the Pro suspension and later (1.5 years) replaced that with extended ADS.

The Pro suspension is awesome and provides about 1" lift in front over the stock OR. I would have kept it, but I added too much weight in front, skid, winch, bumper, sliders, etc, and it isn't adjustable. So, I swapped them for ADS, which are amazing.

As others have suggested, I'd recommend ADS, Kings, Fox, or similar. It will cost more, but they are somewhat future proof, when it comes to other truck upgrades.

I'd also avoid Icon, as I've read a few too many negative reviews lately.

Kings have a known brand with fancy blue paint. I like ADS because they have some better components internally and have unique valving (progressive compression / digressive rebound)

@Jason TRD OR i was leaning on toward the kings because they have good reviews too but the ADS have good ones also.

Check out Headstrong Offroad. Marie is super helpful and very knowledgeable. Just be sure to fully educate yourself on the various terms, required upgrades and maintenance. Theres a ton of info here on TW, just takes some time and the search function to sort through it all.

The best suggestion I can offer... be sure to search your questions before posting here on TW. Some of the touchier OG's get a little prissy when people ask common or overly repeated questions. That, or grow some thick skin, because they'll let you know how they feel about your question.

ADS and Kings are VERY similar. As I understand it, ADS was started by an ex-Kings employee. Both use high end components and should do more than you'll ever need.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/3rd-gen-owners-with-king-coilovers.472876/

By my non-scientific survey, Kings are much more common here on TW. That's no indication of quality... just a statistic and reputation amongst enthusiasts.

    Nope, not at all.

OP - I am the only person on TW who has had good luck with icons - both performance and customer service.

All seriousness, any of the brands mentioned above will serve you well.

I've had great luck with my icons so far. I am also not doing jumps and other stupid send-it shit either, which has been the case so far with all the ones with the broken top hats. I'm sure some bilstein 6200s would have served me just well, but I wanted adjustable coilovers that could be rebuilt and revalved easily for a decent price.
