What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Didnt do a whole lot, painted/tinted my turn signal cover and the stupid amber side cover dealio in VHT nightshade. Did about 4 coats but light shines through just fine. I have Led turn signals so I'm not worried about not having enough light shine through. A nice twig fell on one of then so it's not perfect. I cant decided if I should just paint the side reflector in gloss black and paint underneath where the then signal thing goes in black or not. When the trim piece is painted white I'll see how it all looks. Also scuffed up the chrome and did a pre, pre clean for paint. I will more than likely go over it once more with scotch brite and clean it again. Still need to refresh the lenses as well. Waiting for nice weather to wash, clay bar and wax my truck, trim some more fender out (started rubbing again after slider install) and fix my cat rattle a bit more permantely.

 

Shoot em with some oven cleaner and let em sit for 10 minutes then hit em with a red scotchbright, all the chrome will come right off.

 

Got these in today. OBX headers and y pipe. They were used and dirty. Got them for 300 including shipping. Some Dremel work and wd40 and they cleaned up nice will finish the y pipe tomorrow.

 

I've heard some mixed reports on that. Most people I've talked to said that just scuffing over the chrome and painting it with primer, base and clear and it will be fine. However, I might give it a try.

 

Paint them calipers son!

 

I’m sure it’s fine as long as you scuff it all good. Give the primer something to bite into.

Every set of lights I’ve ever painted, I’ve always stripped the chrome just because it only takes a few minutes extra and you don’t have to worry about adhesion.

Plus we all know how well “chrome” sticks to plastic. Eliminating the chrome is a sure fire way of not having to ever worry about that happening under your paint.

 

Get TRD OR take offs from a turd (3rd) gen. Guys on here sell them pretty cheap and they are Bilstein shocks so they are good quality! They perfectly leveled my 2nd gen

 

I have the Wild peaks, and I'll definitely buy them again. They look and perform just as I want them to.

 

Wild peaks have my vote. I drive in snow and mud all the time and rocky terrain. Haven't had a flat and haven't even ever got close to being stuck. Awesome tires

 

Drove it to work to see that the new Jeep Wrangler Rubicon are running Falken Wildpeak M/T's 285-70-17. Now im gonna have to keep my eye out on CL and OfferUp. On the way home I stopped and got a Choco Taco to put in the taco rack

 

Debating in to painting my roof with a bedliner?

You could probably vinyl wrap it for around the same cost. and have it be removable

Had to remove my yellow tint from my headlights. Got a nice 140 dollar ticket for it. It's technically not against the law but I'm contesting it and I'd rather not have to explain the RCW's to people who dont care. My retrofits cant come soon enough
