@boogie3478 Can you describe the vibes you had that resulted in your addition of rear axle shims? Was it an extremely noticeable vibration or was it a low intensity vibration?

 

Mine had a vibe around 25 mph that bounced the truck. It was very noticeable like the rear was hoping. It went away as soon as I did the shackle flip. The flip lowers the rear hangers improving the driveline angle. 3 degree shims and a carrier bearing drop should fix you up.

 

I definitely don't have any of that. The vibe I am experiencing is very mild and is probably related to the lugs on the tires. It is the kind of vibe that after my 1 hour drive to work my feet are tingling almost like when your feet fall asleep. I'll probably just play with tire pressure to see if it might be related.

 

TakoToy's vibes were worse than mine. All mine were was a very slight shake around 10-15 mph either right before or right after my truck shifted (automatic trans) into 2nd gear. After that first shift everything was smooth. The vibes really didn't bother me at all but I was curious to see if the axle shims would do anything for me.

 

Bought something else for the truck yesterday. Can't stop, won't stop.

I'm 88 miles from VA beach. I usually go down to obx if I'm feeling beachy. Had some bad experiences at VA beach with local law enforcement and the riff raff that hangs out there.
