I'm fortunate in that I'm not affected by the cold like some people. The side and foot area vents (a first for me) are what attracted me to this bag. I doubt very much it's really rated down to 30 degrees for most people but it's likely going to be good below that for me. I'm typically ok in shorts and a T-shirt down to 40 even in a breeze. When most people are worried about a heater I'll be dying for a fan. Fortunately I have 4 battery operated mini fans we take on vacations to places like Mexico and the DR. Before I go anywhere you can best believe I'm going to find out how long I can run a squirrel cage shop fan off my truck battery.

I'm definitely going to buy a cot. I have one picked out already.

Weird, the link says table but it's a cot. What's nice about this is, if and when I get a cap, if I want to I can use this in my bed. Again, being short I have the advantage with this model unlike normal height people. The other advantages are, the design is only two legs and not three like most cots. That means better storage under it in a tent and it will straddle the wheel well in the bed of the truck allowing it to be completely against the bed side providing more useable room for a small table, etc.

Another very unique and interesting feature is how the fabric has a sleeve design that you can slide a ground pad into! They say besides adding comfort and warmth, being in the sleeve keeps it from shifting out from under you. Makes perfect sense to me. Again, warmth not being an issue so much for me, mine only has to be very comfortable.

The rest of everything else will fall into place. I'm even already starting looking at DIY water ports. A shower in the morning will be essential. Especially for anything longer than 2 days. Meals will be primitive at first. Coffee for breakfast is not even critical. I'm ok with cold soda or iced tea. As long as it has caffeine I'm good.
