Saw Captain Marvel this evening. The tribute to Stan Lee was wonderful.

I honestly thought it was a very good story and it filled in quite a few gaps in the overall Marvel universe.

No spoilers but the best post credit scene is immediately following the initial credit run. Sets up endgame.
If you want a laugh sit through all of them till the end.

Brie Larson did a great job IMO. Thoroughly enjoyed the movie.

Agreed. Best Marvel movie? No. Worst Marvel Movie? No. It played it's part to introduce the character and what she's capable of for Endgame.

Would be hard to beat Thor 1 or 2 for that title...

To me, Thor 2 or Iron Man 3 are close in that regard.

I like Iron Man so he gets a pass...

I really like Thor too, but he didn’t grow on me until Ragnarok and IW

gotta separate the character from the overall movie experience.

Thor and Thor 2 bored me to tears, but I loved Ragnarok.

Still, my favorite Marvel movies are all of the Captain Americas (equally), both Deadpools (also equally), Avengers, Ant-Man, Iron Man, and oddly enough the Edward Norton Hulk. I think that Mark Ruffalo is flat out killing it as the Hulk now, but the story of that other Hulk movie was pretty good. That chase through the favelas while checking his pulse was pretty tight. It makes me sad that it doesn't get the love.

I've never been a huge fan of the Fox universe X-Men. Characters have good, but they cast so many of them WRONG outside of Patrick Stewart and the smaller characters. As fun as Hugh Jackman has been as Wolverine, he's the wrong...everything...for the character.

And don't get me started on Gambit. Every time that project dies an angel gets his wings. I think the studios are finally figuring out that he's a douche, and no matter how they write it the movie will flop.

When it comes to Marvel I see it as different entities...

There is the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is The Avengers. Then there is everything else, which is mostly just X-Men.

I’ve liked all the X-Men and Deadpool are both the best 2 they’ve made, but I also have a man-crush on Jackman so I’m a sucker for anything he does...

That said, none of that beats what they’ve done in the MCU. Just the overall story telling over the past 10+ years is incredible. To know where it started and how it has all tied together is amazing.

I didn’t love the first Cap but have enjoyed the rest. My favorite is obvious IW but Ragnarok is right behind it. Guardians 1 and both Ant Man’s are also up there for me

I’m also one of the few that enjoyed Hulk with Ed Norton. I’m sad we didn’t get to see him pan out but I like Ruffalo too.

Well I didn’t hate it, but I didn’t love it either. Was a bit bored. Maybe I’ve seen too many marvel movies but this one was really predictable. There was a lot to like about it though...trying to figure out when Fury would lose his eye, the return of Coulson, the Easter eggs to other movies (Ronin). The post credit scene was underwhelming and the preview for Spider-Man was a huge spoiler. I really don’t understand why they put that trailer out. They don’t need to market their movies. It’s marvel. It’s going to perform well...

Saw Captain Marvel today. We enjoyed it, but now we need to go back and watch a bunch of the Marvel movies again, to get all the connections straight in our brains.

For a while during the movie I suspected that Agent Coulson might be a scrull. And I don't mean for just a brief period during the movie. I mean has been all along. Was kind of bummed when that turned out not to be the case. Would have been kind of cool.

I think what excites me the most is that I read the trailer is cut with material from just the first 20min of the movie which means there is still like 2.5hours worth of movie we haven’t seen
