Paying a shop to install my CV axles was not cheap. I see there are needle bearing and seal pullers and install tools being passed around TW. I think the necessary tools cost less than $100 even if purchased new. My fear is not being able to get the axle out or worse, back in and causing more damage trying.

I paid $150 for the install. That was a no brainer in my book and no stress about messing it up

Got a compressor and a 'brap' gun? Hardest part of the whole job is getting the axle nut cover off without buggering it all up. Also, there's only one spot where the axle will slide out easily. Keep rotating the axle and prying on it until you find the spot. Alternative is to pick up the bushing and set up a time to visit @tacobell007 in Ma. He was doing them for a $50 spot.

Most shops have not installed that part before. Ecgs website says installation takes about 1.5 hours, then just ask for a cash price for labor.

Looking like some pretty decent weather this weekend! Might get my truck up in the air to replace my front rotors and pads. Got the powerstop kit from Amazon for $160.
