I extended mine up into the driver side bed box, with my ARB fitting for compressor action.

Mine looks rusty, but it is not a Toyota part. I installed a larger breather from a piece of drilling equipment. It just has a bit of surface rust I will be cleaning up in a few weeks.

Lots of guys relocated them up behind the rear tail light. I had to be able to look at mine, just my crazyness. :cookiemonster:

Yes I just ordered 2 fittings from toyotapartsdirect.ca and am going to run it up to the gas cap housing with 5/16” fuel line with an in-line fuel system style filter to make certain no gunk gets in there. Just worried about the stupid seals. It’s always something with this truck haha

I was advised against the gas cap placement, as you can hit each time you gas up and break the little stock breather easily.

Huh, didn’t know that. There’s quite a bit of room in there so I can see if there’s space to put it out of the way. If not I’ll try not to be reckless with the nozzle. I don’t know where else I could put it because I don’t want it in the bed and don’t want to route it up into the engine bay. Worst comes to worst it’s. $6 fitting and if I break it I just replace it.

I am not sure on 1st gen's how your rear tail light is mounted. If you remove it there should be holes already for the wires, can run the breather line in the same holes. That is another common spot on 2nd gens.

    *Edit*
You wont know the breather is broken, until you blow your seals again. :notsure:

Where would you run it from there though? Just behind the tail light?

So getting the Midland MXT series running at 15W would be bad... damnit.

Guess it's the handhelds still for me..

What are the odds that it stops leaking after I swap the breather?

Really don’t want to pull the axle...

lol, 0, your seals are done. It's easier to do the 1st gen than 2nd, 3rd gen if I remember correctly.

The most annoying part is to re-assemble drum brakes, everything else is straightforward. Get slide hammer for less struggle when pulling shaft.

Lubrico is coming in clutch. I can take my truck in for a diagnosis on the axle seals to my mechanic and they can check it out and any costs after will be billed against my warranty. Only gonna do that if I need to do the bearings too though. I can do the seals myself.
