    I got my private cert, tried for IFR and wigged out under the goggles they made me wear, and then just sort of let everything lapse since I had no one to fly with and no money to do so.

    Thought about going to be a crew dog for charter freight, but a few of the gigs I was looking at turned out to not be so great for a variety of reasons. I also didn't wanna move to Florida where a lot of these operations are based out of.

    One thing.. why does it always seem like the jet moving at such slow pace thru the clouds (even ones right next to the airplane) when ground/air speed is like 500+ MPH? Clouds cannot be always moving in same direction as the jet but that's what I've noticed over the years flying commercial.

    You have no good reference of speed when you’re in the air. Fly a slow plane through the clouds and you’ll definitely notice the difference!
