    Well since you said Fluid

It calls for Toyota T-IV ATF

Which seems to open up a whole can of worms as to just what else can be used.

I would tend to want to figure out why I'm running low on transmission fluid, first...

Factory fluid costs way too much. I third what the others said.

I just looked at the price of the Toyota IV atf.... holy crap, 10-15 a quart on EBay. I planned on changing mine this spring but will be looking at other options for sure

Toyota doesn't make transmission fluid and as far as I know use no material in their tranny that requires a formulation that no one else uses.

I actually think factory spec oils are on the low end.

Read your dipstick, possible you don't even use T-IV (I don't know personally but Toyota was using Dex III in 99 for my Sienna)

I will be checking for sure as I don’t even know what tranny is in it since someone long ago appears to have replaced it. *sigh... It is a PreRunner with gender issues that now identifies as a 4x4. I think it’s right since the ECT button and OD buttons work properly.. lol ehhhh but I noticed some stuff under there that don’t look original such as the dipstick tube bracket has nothing to bolt to, The cooler lines are kinda mickey moused. Thanks for the heads up.
