Firestone on Shafter Flats or Hickam are usually more accepting.

Firestone on Hickam is dead to me, they gouged my rims with a screw driver removing the weights for BS re-balancing and alignment reccomendation when I took it there for a safety check....way back before I went balls deep into wrenching.

the manager covered for his guys and told me shit happens.

yeah, I wanted to take it all the way up to the base Commander or AAFES person but figured they'd just beat around the bush.

The Firestone's on base make a lot of money. One of my coworkers used to work at one and told me stories of some of the other stuff that happened where he worked.

I know the one at the marine base is always pumping. Always has vehicles in their bays being worked on.

It gets better. I couldn’t get a alignment because there was too much play in the wheel bearing. I wanted to get a set from the local guy that sells them on this forum but he didn’t get back to me. Went to Napa and got one. Went to auto skills center and installed it. They still don’t have my registration so they said they would hook me up with an alignment but the guy that can do it is on lunch. So I went to the DMV in Kaneohe and got a duplicate registration for FREE and there was no line! Just finishing up lunch, then back to auto skills center for an alignment. Hopefully I make it to recon before it closes....

Shafter, ask for Aaron. And Hickam, the guy I used to go with moved onto a different shop. But, at least they don’t lie to you with some false BS like, “modified vehicle cannot get the lifetime warranty.”

Yup, Island Brake is good. Or in a pinch I've been to both Discount Tires in Waipahu & Honolulu and Capitol Auto in Waipio. Basically all the places with waiting areas with large windows so I can watch everyone working on the truck like a hawk :spy:

Island Brake hooked me up with a factory alignment for recon then bumped up caster to requested specs

Ok I'm finally tapping out after 2 years of this damn ghost popping in the front end that I cant find. What's a good shop to take the truck to who's not going to rape me in diagnostic fees? Was thinking toyota but last time I took it to a stealership I spend 3 weeks arguing and telling them to replace my needle bearing. So dont hold high expectations for them anymore.

I have seen the sticker around, but dont know where to get one. If you find out, let me know because I wouldn't mind grabbing one. I had a buddy that had one in high school (late 90's) so they have been around for a while. My buddy was from Kahalu'u.

Message the seller. Maybe he is local and you can meet up. The seller might also know where there is a shop.
