Who else treats their truck like royalty?

All of their adventure bikes are sweet machines. I almost picked up an F800 a few years back, but went a different route.

 

Bought quicksand so I didn't have to wash it as much. Only hand wash it, two bucket method, clay bar, wax etc every 3 months. In between that I clean the windows and she looks pretty clean from 10 feet away. I rather have a dirty car, than a swirled up car from a automatic wash.

 

I treat my truck like the dirty little slut that she is.

But she likes it so its ok.

 

My truck gets to sleep in a closed garage every night!

 

For my truck when purchased new, I immediately researched car care products and techniques. Now I have my own electric power washer and everything else needed. I have been very upset when I would make a mistake that would cause damage. For example, ATV in back with tailgate down going over a gravel road. Resulted in about 8 pin prick chips on the tailgate. I still remember seeing the first rock hit the front and bounce into the windshield. I do what I can to treat it right. 8,500 miles and I have honestly never went over 70% throttle. I don't let it idle unnecessarily. Already have the first can of seafoam in the tank to stay on top of deposits.

 

I once vacuumed Labrador hair, granite sand and pebbles, and emptied out all the once fired brass. I windexed the Lab slobber off the windows a few times.
Then I stopped.
I will die one day, covered in Lab hair, slobber and empty brass. Hopefully.

 

I think about washing my truck. That’s about it. I may do it. O I may sip my whiskey and not do it. One or the other. Usually the other.

 

Same here with my bulldog. I’m about to give up cleaning window booger’s and rear seat slobber lol

 

It's really going to break your heart when your realize none of that stuff makes an ounce of difference or when a chimney falls on your hood.

 

I was very meticulous when I first bought it and completed the first thorough detail.

After that, I started to slack a little bit, because it is a truck. I am still over the top relative to most posters, as I vacuum the truck out once every two-ish weeks, and it gets hand washed once a month, and after big outings. But it has its scratches and dings already. I don't purposefully abuse it, but sometimes I hop in and get on with the drive.

I plan on washing it this weekend since finally the rain is gone for now, but I already have a few dings here and there and have wash it like twice since Sept of 2018. It doesn't bother me as much as it would if it was my sports car. Buff it out/touch up paint and on my way.

 

I just bounce the tach off the rev limiter until the temp gauge starts to move. Then I know it’s nice and warmed up.

 

Lucky for you guys....having OCD sucks.

I treat mine like a rented mule to haul stuff and drive off road. It gets washed twice a year whether it needs it or not. It's never been waxed, there are dents, scrapes and scratches on it. And the seats and carpet are dirty. But I do religiously change the oil every 10,000 miles. It'll hit 200,000 miles this summer and I'll change out the factory coolant and hoses then.

Most of the cleaning and maintenance that people do is just a way to separate money from their wallet. They don't last any longer.

 

I mean yeah I am guilty of washing my truck after it snows I believe road salt is horrible for cars and trucks.

Since I’ve been using ceramic coating I haven’t had to do anything but a light wash and dry.

I’ll let it go as long as it takes Until it gets dirty again. Usually a month or so of driving depending on activities. I just like having a clean car.

In the winter here I use a remote start to warm it all up. Let it run for a few minutes before I leave in the mornings. Oil changes always done at 5-6k I don’t care what anyone says oil and filters get dirty.

I do drive it like a car most of the time.

 

I admit, I'm extremely OCD with my '17 truck I bought new in Oct '16. Girlfriend says I like it more than her (smart girl). Sleeps in the garage every night (the truck, not the girlfriend).

I try to keep it looking new inside and out and with the factory maintenance just expiring, I did my first oil change last weekend.

I try to not even drive mine on a rainy day if it’s been recently washed. I do baby it to much but it’s the first brand new vehicle that I have ever had that’s paid in full and at 50 yrs old I want it to last me. I drive it so little it will be about 7 months from when I got it before it goes in for its 5000 mile first service visit.

 

I take care of the truck as much as I can. Wash it, wax it, detail it as much more than friends or family. It’s an investment and a tool. Just like after a Pew Pew session I clean all the tools.

It is also necessary with a Malamute... she can shed like a leper. (No offense...)

I like taking care of the things I pay for.

 

Shit I would never be able to drive it rains almost every day lol

 

Yep, record rainfall here to lately, main reason I won’t need it’s first service till maybe April, had the truck since last September.
