    300+K miles......

    Zero fails, clutch was replaced once, starter once, alty once, battery a few times.

    It was silver but about 90% of the clear coat was gone or bubbled

    My dad sold it for me when i went to work for uncle sam, it was running just fine.... I dont know how much longer it went on for

    Have you ridden in a C7 ZR1? They are no joke. Serious machine. I rode in one around Laguna for about 20 minutes, and even at 70-80% gave me a new appreciation for speed, brakes and cornering.

    Yeah I have. Two different ones actually. My brother in law got one some time ago and my dad used to have one as well. They are tremendously fun and I have no way of denying that. To be honest though I've ridden in a 9 second C6 before, so I am very familiar with over the top unmanageable speed which flings you back into your seat. My last comment was actually a poke at my brother in law just because I could, and because he'll never see the comment. If he did though he would laugh. Hahaha.

    I am not running any sort of extension but I will look into them. I am betting it is heat also. As for the placement it is about 8 inches behind the y-pipe gasket and right behind the factory O2 sensor placed at just above the 9 o'clock with a slight angle on it. It does go towards the trans and is between the cooler lines so it is tight. But I am going to see about an extension. I have enough length in my sensor wire and guage connection that I might even be able to weld a new one in after the y-pipe merge but that I think is too far away. I am running the spec.U equal length exhaust. Oh and I can't put it back at the merge because I have welded in a Magnaflow 55995 high flow cat on each side before the merge.

    I have mine after the cats, technically it is supposed to be hotter back there, but by running an extension bung which serves as a heatsinks as well coupled with a good location you should not have an issue.

    What error code are you getting on the gauge by the way? Or what is happening that makes you think the Denso sensor died?

    Also, that car went through its Sport Cup 2s in one day. Two drivers almost never giving it a rest between sessions. Maybe 2-3 tanks of fuel. Expensive beast to feed for track duty.

    It does one of two things every start. 1) Runs the entire heat cycle, outside ring goes all the way around, and then gives me 4 dashes. One time it reset and did the whole start up cylcle 3 times right in a row. 2) Runs a heat cycle about 3-4 dashes of the outside ring longer than normal, then the numbers come on and it starts in the 14 or or 15's and goes down to the 8's and as soon as you touch the throttle or the engine loads up and the rpms just it goes to 4 dashes. And it just stays at the dashes unless I get a good long long boost pull then it blips a number for a second and then goes back to 4 dashes.

    Ok dumb question: is the coolant reservoir cap just threaded, or also locking to hold pressure?

    I need to add coolant tonight and don't want to break the damn thing.

    It’s screw on.....mine was on rather tight as well. Hold onto the resi with one hand while you unscrew the top.

    Well, I just fired up the truck to drive this morning and about a half mile down the road right before I hopped on the freeway couldn't rev past 2000 rpm... what the hell. I peeked over and saw the CEL as usual lit up. Great, it's not a MAF code, what could it be?

    I scanned it and got a P2442 AIR injection system valve stuck Bank 2... awesomeee.... NOT.

    Managed to clear the code and I got full functionality back. For now. While I was at work I removed both valves and cleaned them out. Bank 2 was absolutely disgusting and the seal for the valve was all melted like and full of moisture. Awesome.

    Bit the bullet and got a hewitt-tech Bypass kit to install. Should be here Monday. Cleaning everything up may have bought me another week or two at best. I don't know.

    That mod has been in for a very long time now.

    This is a valve which has piping hot exhaust running through it at start up issue.
