Totally true for electrical connections, and probably doesn't care what gen. But first gen obviously older, so, more opportunity.
I was an electronic tech - but when everyone threw their own systems on cars, you can't just follow basic rules anymore. But that rule of grounds never changes.

I used to have a super white 2004 Corolla, and that goddamn thing was fucking invisible. Not only was I rear-ended or clipped 6 times in 10 years (never my fault) living in San Antonio, but I could tear past cops without a second look.

It’s like I was never there.

The AmeriTruck is a bit more visible.

This kind of thing it totally true! I like our invisible daily driver. I had a poor old 73 Pinto wagon (stop it, it was a ton of fun), but it got hit three times in the rear, and every other corner once. We had a riot though. But it was INVISIBLE!
