I found a couple tips, I guess mineral spirits first and if that doesn't work, acetone will work too. I think I have some acetone somewhere...

 

I agree. Paint thinner is a simple chemical process, where anodization is electrochemical. As long as she doesn’t apply a current the anodization should stay because it’s part of the emblem now.

Then again, not sure what chemical process the spray paint could have performed.

Im more worried the black ruined the lighter colors even if I remove it. Guess I'll find out when I try lol

 

I attached it with Velcro so in case I need to lower the spare tire I can still get the crank in there. The one on my last truck was on there for 10 years.

That’s why I wanted the ridged aluminum backed light. Just 3 or 4 2” pieces of Velcro and you are good.

Yea, that would suck. But if they are really bad, you can do what I did for the removal and clean up and have them redone for a lot less than they cost new.

 

My first time doing this type of project too so I don't wanna mess it up lol. Although, worse case scenario I'll just paint it again or something

I could go soak it in acetone and see what happens, that's what I'm considering doing now...

I’d try paint thinner/mineral spirits first. For some reason that seems less harsh than acetone.

 

It would certainly say Hello against somethin' Dark.

 

That's what I was hoping but I don't want it to look stupid. Hopefully these are easy to put in and easy to take mine off. I haven't read how to do that yet till I like the way it looks!
