Oh people. Its one of those things where people are supposed to hate them and what not. I knew a guy that had a truck identical to mine that had one

The "On Fire" would look great on the truck but if that's messed up after you strip off the paint you're still going to need to do some prep. 000 steel wool to remove any imperfections followed by some 0000 steel wool. Then a couple coats of primer (don't skimp, pay the extra 2 bucks for the Rustoleum Pro type) and in between coats of primer, very light with some of that 0000 steel wool. Once its primed, knowing how outdoorsy you are, maybe you could do a nice pine green? Or, and this would be harder but you could do a Red White & Blue fade. You could take a empty box of tissues, the longer/flatter type, not those cubes, and cut the two longer sides off. Then you woul have the top with the slot, the bottom and the two short ends. Slide the emblem into the box so that the top, or tips of the horns are visible, and using a piece of paper (any kind) cover the bottom of the emblem. Using fire engine red paint, spray the emblem through the hole from about 8 or more inches away. You want some overspray, but the slot in the box will help control it. Then, after it dries, slide the emblem up so you can see the bottom and after covering the red, spray with a nice royal blue. Once that is dry, slide the emblem again to expose the middle covering some but not all of the red and blue and hit that with a super white. I would look for either gloss or metalicized versions of each. Then once your done, and I'm doing this this time, apply at least two coats of Plastidip Glossifyer to protect the paint from chips and road salt.

I think a RW&B fade would be a one of a kind piece that would turn heads! A lot of work, yes. But, worth doing!

Of course, if you're like me and never have the time to do things like this you could always just go with a blue to match the truck or that green.

Also, when I removed my plastic OEM, I broke all the tabs even though I was gentle. Andres would likely send you the hardware, cheap. Also, some years require a backing plate. You might want to check his site for that.

Thank you! Im going to copy and paste this into my notes. Love all of the ideas. I was thinking about doing a black blue and white camo somehow as well if it needs painted again...I like the thought of really bright colors though.
