hopefully with this kit out and maybe even the urd kit coming out, someone will come out with some kind of chip for the 2TR, or a piggyback or something.

 

stoichiometric, air/fuel maps and mixtures, closed loop, open loop, zeroing out the fuel trims, learning the operating sequences of the ECU, all this is jibberish to me.. makes my brain hurt. but im excited for the outcome videos/numbers. keep up the good work

i just want to get my 1/4 mile time down so i can take a crack at some of the sports cars at the car meet i go to.

 

I am just looking for a little more bottom end. Especially if I get any larger tires regearing will not be enough to correct the lack of power.

stock feels like it will run a high 17

so i feel like s/c maybe high 15 low 16

 

still it will help me against some of the cars at a car meet i go to. i can keep up with some honda's and jetta's. so far i've been having a lucky streak beating them by skill, i'd like to have them eat my dust though. lol

 

I mean its not a slow truck when you race other 4 cylinder trucks

Raced my buddies ranger and crushed him, raced a CRV and crushed it (lol)

as long as you stick to other 4 cylinders in its class, you will win, cause compared to those, our 2.7 is quick, haha

 

it not just that, the 2tr has more power distributed though the power curve and low end torque compared to the b16, some b18s, and K20. All very potent power plants properly tunes, but most of the guys where i live don't know what they are doing. knowlegde of cars is an amazing tool at car shows/races.

That may be true, but remember, our trucks weigh like 1000lbs more than those civics and integras..

soooo, some weight reduction (maybe the bed, lol) and we got ourself a quick truck

 

Any word on when URD is gonna put their 2.7 s/c on the market?

 

None yet, still waiting for the word from Gadget.

 

He actually e-mailed me a couple days ago asking me to measure one of the bolts in my engine. Said it is the last detail needed to fit the CAD-designed parts to the truck. So it is still progressing.

 

Good to hear newengland. If it is last step entering the CAD drawings that means he has to build up the truck and run the tests. After the test runs well we all know what that means.

 

Newengland: as someone who may legitimately drop a few grand on a supercharger, I gotta say I appreciate all the work you're putting into both of these products. I can't wait until something a little more 'polished' comes out in terms of a kit; I've already started setting some fun-money aside.

Lots going on and I work a project til I hit a point where I have to wait for something to be made or machined and I pick up on another project.

Right now I have a 4.7L V8 project, 1GR 4Runner project, 5VZ project, the new version of the 1GR in the 2010 4Runner and FJ, and of course the 2TR. In addition to all of that I take all the calls, answer all the emails, and pack most of the orders going out. Then there is the secret project that you are going to definitely want. It is BIG I tell ya....
