Pic 1 shows the caliper where the banjo bolt screws into. In there is a nipple that has to seat over the end of the bolt.

Pic 2 shows the end of the banjo bolt. The hole from the Tacoma banjo bolt is too small to fit over the Tundra fitting.

Pic 3 shows why the end of the bolt has to be drilled out. It will not seat all the way to the bottom threads.

    I hope this is clear

holy shit, what size drill bit did you use? That's a pretty giant hole you made. I think I used 1/4" bit.

So I'm getting ready to do the Tundra brake swap but I'm curious if there's a banjo bolt specifically for the tundra caliper so you don't have to drill.

Also, I want to buy new banjo bolts for the Tacoma just in case I screw up the drilling process. What size bolt do I need? M10x1.00?

Since you aren't in the middle of the job, just order the SS braided hoses with the correct fittings. You'll also get slightly better pedal feel with the braided hoses.

I already have extended SS brake lines and a banjo bolt in my Tacoma caliper. I really don't want to spend $72 for the banjo bolts. The drilling seems easy but just in case something happens, I'd like to have extra bolts. I would really like to know if there is a banjo bolt for the Tundras. Still looking around.

So... I originally used banjo bolts (Wheelers) with my Tundra calipers. But when one of the calipers seized, and I had to replace it, I ran into issues - the banjo didn't fit the new caliper. As such, it was time to fix the problem once and for all. Worth reading my experience (and solution) before you finalize this project...

Originally...I thought - the Tacoma uses a banjo bolt from the factory, so it must be OK to do the same with the Tundra calipers. And, for two years, it worked out great. That is, until one of my calipers seized up on the trail and I had to replace it.

As part of that process, I learned the hard way that not all Tundra calipers are correctly remanufactured to work with banjo bolts. At first I thought this was super weird, but as I thought about it, the reason for this dawned on me: if you're using the Tundra 13WL for it's intended use - on a Tundra - the special machining needed to use a banjo bolt is unnecessary, since the Tundra doesn't use a banjo.

This is the correct way to do it. The banjo bolt drilling ( it only needs to be drilled until the drill bit taper width is reached ) Is a work around to use Tacoma brake lines. If your going to upgrade your brake lines to SS lines.
Buying the ones from LCE https://www.lceperformance.com/Stainless-Brake-Line-Kit-Tacom-To-Tundra-Upgrade-p/1055114-k.htm
Is the best thing to do.

Except LCE charges too much. So I'm putting together kits for less now :).

I purchased the steel lines and brackets from Toyota. Just need to buy the lines.
