Someone asked me why I got rid of my 2015 TRD PRO Inferno......well, look at the Carfax and tell me how many times I did the brakes in the 18 months that I owned it......6 times!!….truth be told, I tried everything(!) to get the brakes to not shimmy and it always did......after the 6th time I was done!.....oh well, it's certified now so hopefully the dealer did something magical to solve the problem.

Did you go back to stock parts.....it was probably due to those rotors and TRD pads

 did you do anything else like balance or rotate or even road force-balance your tires..?

My car eats brakes like nothing else, but havent had a single issue on the truck in the 2 years Ive owned it

Wow, no wonder you were sick of it! I've got 30k miles and not a single issue with my brakes so far.

Also.....and here is ultimately the possible issue.......I looked into this setup before I bought my BBK Wilwood setup. Those TRD pads must be broken in appropriately with a few hard stops from set speeds that are on the directions. I completely forgot about this otherwise I woulda mentioned this before.

Yeah most 'performance' brakes have a pretty rigorous break-in process

That could definitely be the issue as to the premature life of the pads and the vibrations

I went back to stock regular rotors and stock regular pads....twice.....and babied it to try to have them bed in properly.....it didn't work.....still shimmied after a few thousand miles

yep, rotated them but I made sure the tires guys reinstalled the tires using a torque wrench only and no air gun as not to have the tires unevenly installed......but of course it didn't help...

yep, you're right.....but they were the first set...….it was too much of a pain to bed them in properly so after those I tried stoptech slotted cryo treated rotors and regular oem pads…...lasted again for a few thousand miles and then the shimmy came back...

probably, but its too late for that for me now......but I'm loving the new 2019 TRD OR 4x4 cement!.....the PRO was still a great truck!.....

I can still hang out in here with you guys though right even though I've "downgraded" to just a poor mans regular Taco???!

Finally got around to installing all the parts I got from Black Friday sales. Still have some tweaking to do to get the suspension height correct, front alignment where I want it and the shocks adjusted for on and off road, but here we go...

new pics of the 2015 PRO that I traded in.....https://www.toyotaoforange.com/used/Toyota/2015-Toyota-Tacoma-73bf37010a0e0ae851376b4c1f8a41ae.htm

they took off the front and rear Wet Okole seat covers, the Husky Front & Rear Husky X-act Contour Floor Liners are also gone, and the dash cam is gone.....maybe one of the employees snagged some of those goodies??!!

if someone wants this truck and is a good negotiator you SHOULD be able to get this truck for $30K (plus tax) and not a penny more!!….figuring what they gave me for a trade in plus doing the rotors and brakes(AGAIN!) and them certifying it, they will still make plenty of $$$....trust me!!...if you want this truck you should play hardball and stick to $30K......just saying!!
