Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

Sorry to hear about all the troubles. Really hoping my order with a shipping label created doesn’t get canceled due to idiots being idiots.

 

See the attached file. I brought a print of it in when I took my truck in for 10k service. They actually did a different TSB according to the service ticket, but the ECU ID afterward was 04B04, so all was good.
Note: the dealer listed in my sig was NOT the one that did the TSB... they had refused me twice before.

You guys know that there are humans behind businesses. I'm not Amazon. I'm not out here stealing from people.. and I put everything into this platform. And now I've got more penalties only from Tacoma kits than anything else, out of all years I've been in business.

 

I bought my tune kit from another member second hand. Is it still possible to pay for a new licence

 

God damn people gotta go f@&k $hit up. Now the rest of us can't buy the tune and use the tax discount.

 

It’s really unfortunate people forget that.

A lot of us here really believe in the product and are excited for the future. It baffles me the hate some people bring here. I don’t get it.

Toyota screwed up the truck. Mat is the ONE GUY who’s out there trying to save it for us. I think a lot of people also don’t understand the amount of work and difficulty in what you are doing to unfuck what toyota did

 

Thanks for the updates. Just got my registration key today so I'll be all set when I get my cable, etc... Will also give me time to fill up with some 91 (plan on trying the 91perf) and run through a bit and refill before I run the tune to make sure the tank is as close to 91 as possible. (maybe overthinking it, but meh, I'm excited!)

 

You're being too polite. I would call them thieves. Flashing their Tacos and then demanding a refund with no way of verifying they tuned back to stock other than their word. You should state up front a no refund policy to keep these scammers away.

 

Even if they did flash back to stock, and did a chargeback without returning the kit it is still return fraud. It's a dick move regardless. Unfortunately there isn't much recourse without spending $$ to drag people into court. The costs for that would far outweigh the losses from fraudulent chargebacks.

 

I for one hope that Ovtune doesn’t get anymore of these hassles. I know it’s unlikely but I hope I doesn’t affect his business. That’s just BS.

If he were to change the payment method in the future, even if I had to send him a check and have him cash it to verify funds before he sent me the kit, at this point I would be ok with that.

 

Not being a jerk here, but that is 100% said in the page before you get the tune instructions.

Too right.

Considering the cost and effect on a very expensive part of the Taco, I read everything. That said, the OVT T&Cs are pretty short and to the point compared to most.
