    I use the ram magnet base as a phone mount. It grabs the phone if you even get close, it's super strong.

    I don't do anything crazy off road, but it holds on typical FS road washboard and potholes.

    haven't tried a magnet. I have a Teck Deck and Ram mounts but i just checked their site and seems they don't have a Teck Deck for 3rd gen :(. Would be cool if they came out with one. I think some kind of Ram mount would be good for you though.

    My concern with magnetic mounts are:
    1.) case compatibility. The case has to fit loose enough that the metal insert will fit between the phone and case to work. Or you have to stick the metal disk to the outside of the case.
    2.) Interference with wireless charging. Does it still work? I'm thinking it doesn't, or could have negative side effects.

    I'd like to modify my Ram X-mount to have wireless charging too. Just haven't got around to it yet (or even researched the possibilities....)

    The one I had pictured is at Mule. Seemed to hang on pretty well even with my case. Rockin' an Iphone 6, so I'm not privileged with wireless charging as some of you upper tax bracket folk.

    I have a metal plate stuck on my case. Wireless charging doesn't work with it.

    These magnet ones by scosche have wireless charging.

    Nope, the metal plate interferes with the coil. There is a mag mount that uses it but you would have to hit it dead on as it uses a metal ring that goes around the coil instead of a plate.
