Well I just drive it around, no noticeable difference, actually felt more sluggish, go figure!

I can imagine reasons how it might help in both low and high RPMs. I can also see how it might help by acting as a flow straightener.

Mine has been gone for a year now. I can't say that it made a real difference either. It definitely didn't degrade anything.

Yeah no big deal, I’m emissions exempt so nobody or the state will notice.

My 1st Gen we did the popular deck plate mod which definitely helped flow especially during cold weather.

I don't see this part as an official emissions part and have never seen it on other newer cars. I could be wrong, but it might just be a Toyota thing?

Around here, they just do an OBD check. Even if you has a somewhat ill car, you can reset the codes and go for a nice long drive to reset the cycle before hitting the check station and get a pass.

The video in a few previous posts has it on a Subaru. I’ve heard of charcoal canisters on older autos, not sure if it’s the same thing.

Charcoal canisters are for the fuel tank EVAP, the charcoal filter in the intake is for pcv vapors and fuel vapors from the intake.

10min vids are out of my league. Ha!

I didn't see it on my wife's Forester. It is kind of tight in there though.

What @SContiVT said about evap canisters though.

You are free to design and build a turbo kit as well if you believe OVTune is doing it wrong. Competition is good.

Yeah really! He’s testing on a Suby with a small engine and intake. Tacoma is much larger and WHO STARTS THEIR ACCELERATION AT 20 MPH? My 2nd gen had a hesitation from stopped to start rolling. Went away when I removed the filter. (Throttle response)

It’s not the same. He did it on a Suby and as Mrs Incredible would say “Not very Torquey”

Tailgate comes off easily enough too.

Or he's been working on the tune before he does more development on the turbo. Feel free to build a turbo for the taco.

We are working with a fabrication company to build it. No worries I'm only building the test version myself, to develop the tune.
