Hunter orange is the greatest factory color option ever. Love the 60's GMs in that orange

Changed the alternator in the Skydome-NAU parking lot. Drove home. Battery light is still on, I bet that battery didn’t survive the dying alternator, but it enough juice to start it. Even started again when I stop for fuel. Guess I have some trouble shooting to do. Battery is a die hard gold that’s less than two years old. Who took over the warranty or am I just SOL? I didn’t install the one from Napa, but I may need to.

Going to take the old alternator to Copper State Electric to see if they can rebuild it. I don’t need the extra power right now, but 75/200 idle/full-load sounds better than 25/75 factory.

Sears is dead, you will have to Google Die Hard to see if one of the other chains picked them up. If not Costco is the next best choice, swap out every 3 yrs for a fresh new battery no questions asked!

Did you hear, Sears was saved. Only about 45 stores survived, but it isn't dead yet. Looks like we still have almost a dozen Sears Outlet stores in the valley. Will have to call and see if they have batteries. Warranty First!

I was tired and ready for bed when I posted that, so I hadn't gotten around to googling it. Just didn't know if someone already had that info.

Costco is good for batteries, but I was in a bind and got a Napa one yesterday, I may need to return it and go get a Costco one. That is for Tuesday me to decide.

I’ve rocked Napa ones for my last two trucks. 6yr warranty that is prorated somehow. Cost me $40 to replace a 5yr old battery last year. Not bat imho. No Costco up here for me to go that route.

I had a platinum that I had to warranty out, but they didn’t have any platinum. So then I got a Gold. Year later I warrantied that out, but they didn’t have platinum or gold, so now I just have a standard lead acid .

Congrat's and keep up the good work. The feeling of being debt free is liberating. I still listen to Dave on KTAR about once a week just for giggles. I had never heard his advise on when it is OK to buy a new car until last week. Net worth of 1 million and pay cash! People that invest in assets that depreciate will never accumulate wealth. I have been debt free from credit cards and car loans for 12 years, paid off the house about 6 years ago. I have cash to buy any Tacoma I want although I am most interested in 1st gen projects. Just think how quickly the house will get paid for when you apply the money from the debt snowball. Everyone should take FPU!

Anyone want to get out on Sunday? Thinking about making a run deep into the Superstitions for some more AZ Trail Magic. Couple options, the known easier route would be Rogers Through TH which is just off of the Montana Mountain Loop. Would complete the loop heading out. The other option would be more of an exploratory effort heading up to Two Bar Ridge TH on the Roosevelt side. No idea what the current status of the road is after all the rains and snow runoff. The upside is the AZT actually follows the FR for a bit so now you can say hey I've done part of the AZT lol. I am a bit pressed for time Saturday and need to be back to town by 6 which kinda sucks. Sunday would be a better day in all honesty

Either way pretty much would be hanging out for a most the day to see if any hikers come through then provide them some goodies. I know there is a group of 4 that should be clearing Two Bar today but there is about 10 coming in behind them. My preferred route would be Two Bar just cause it is in the middle on nowhere and totally unexpected. Downside is I dont know for sure how many if any would be rolling through. Regardless would be a decent day of off roading and hanging out in the desert.

I'd probably be leaving the house around 7 to get to the start of FR83 by 8:45ish or 7:45 to get to the start of montana mtn loop by 8:45 if decide on that route.
