Could this rack be used as a head ache rack in the sense of carrying a 12' piece of pipe or lumber? Does the back cross bar come far enough back? Have not seen any pictures of it used like this and cannot tell.

I’ve got no problem carrying lumber on it. I’ve done drywall and play wood also. Just remember it’s 47” instead of 48” in width D8DBA1B5-D85F-4FFA-B8F6-114477BBB633.jpg

I am talking about using it like this.
I used to have a cap with racks and would carry long pipe/ lumber on that. With my 2019 I do not have a cap and now have trouble carrying anything over 10'.

I love this set up. I have something very similar. Prinsu front rack with a Pelfreyt bed rack. bedrack2.jpg

Love my prinsu. How many people keep boxes and maxtrax on the rack fulltime?

    Installed my Prinsu!

I bought it used from another member who had it painted white so I sanded it down and painted it black.

I followed Prinsu's instructions for the most part but also did the following.

I removed the weather strips and used painters tape to mark where the holes are. I then put the weather strips back in place to mark where the lines were on the tape.

To make the holes in the weather strips, I used this 3/4" leather punch which is part of a kit off Amazon.

When reinstalling the weather stripping, I used some 3M two-sided tape. I also used some silicone caulking for each of the spacers/bolts for the roof rack side rails.

To mount it, I mounted the side rails first and then did the crossbars. I left everything loose until I got everything mounted together and then tightened the rack down.

I have a gun case for recovery gear and tools mounted with u-bolts, washers, and nuts. I have holes in the gun case in the bottom and then fed the u-bolts through the bottom around the crossbar and into the gun case. I then used washers and nuts to secure it.

I used the Prinsu light bar mounts and painted them black. I ran the wiring of the light bar wiring up the passenger side of the windshield.

I also used the Prinsu noise-reducing edge trim. I originally used a wind deflector without a cutout since that's what the guy I bought it from had but I ended up buying one with a 40" cutout which I like a lot more.

Paul, any tips on punching through the weather stripping? Is it tough to get through? Looks great!

Ran out of space on my Top Rack! Guess a Cab-Rack is in my future. I'm probably at the weight limit for the Snugtop so hoping to redistribute the weight across a Cab rack and open up room for future additions. Showing following:
ARB 2000, 48" Hi Lift, Shovel, Axe, 7 gallons water, 5 gallon gas, 16" spare and reversing lights.
As you may guess, all the weight on the driver side is not helping the Taco lean.

How is everyone mounting their hi-jack lift on their prinsu? I looked in the website and didn't find any sort of mounting accessory.

I wouldn't mount anything that rusts to the outside of the vehicle. Elements will break down and deteriorate the paint on the hi-lift and then start rusting. The rust will sit and over time, water from rain or melting snow will transfer to the truck.

You see it all the time on construction vans with steel ladder racks.

Mount it to the bed rails.

Do you have an LED light bar?

I had a strong interest in this rack system to use for occasional material hauling due to work. However I was toying with the idea of a light bar and I'd rather not have stud material resting on it, especially if it raises it above the cross members.

Can any light bar owners respond if their light bar sits below or above the cross members?

I'd believe that to be the case, but not all light bars are created equally.

I would think it could be the mounting system/brackets you use more so than the bar.

    Could be wrong

The fairing has a cut out for the light bar and therefore can be adjusted so it can align to the top of cross bars.
