Same. Between wheelers and headstrong. Was looking at Toytec but they are more expensive than Icon.

I'm going with Wheeler's because they show 1.5 inches of lift, which is exactly what I want. Leaning towards the single AAL instead of progressive.

So was I but everyone was saying the single AAL make the ride rougher due to 1 leaf creating the lift vice 3 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I was told that the single ride is slightly rougher, but holds load better (which was the main point for me) and likely won't start to sag.
Progressive is nicer ride but may start to sag over time, and doesn't help with load carrying as much.

hmmm, interesting. Thanks. I actually thought about a block bc I want a level stance and I know a block won't sag but ride will suffer.

So what about a progressive with the overload vs a single AAL for more load capacity

I'm just going to try the single AAL and see what happens. Costs less than $100, so if I don't like it I'll just try something else.

I just put the Icon 3-leaf on a set of 3+OL stock (TSB update) packs. I wanted to leave the overload in, and after putting one together, had the idea to pull the shortest one back out, for a little less lift and hopefully to make the overload work more properly. With that tiny one in there, it looked like it'd squat a ton before the overload hit the 2nd leaf.

It sits a hair above level with 5100/885s (also new) and rides just a little rougher than I think it should feel stock. With stock springs @ 130k (looks like my stock leaves had been replaced in the recall, but were only 2+OL) I thought it was way too squishy. For reference, I think they ride better now than my Wheeler's leaf pack in my 1st gen, even though it weighed close to 4500lb.

Are you all pulling the leaf springs off the truck to install the 3 leaf AAL or leaving them on the truck?

The only thing I pulled off was the overload. Everything else stayed clamped and in place.

To be clear I did reinstall the overload with the new 3 leaf aal. Just try to drop the axle as much as possible to make room to slide everything back in.

Did that along with Bilstein 5160s. It’s only been 2 days but I would say definitely better than the stock leaf pack and Hitachis.

Mine rides great, IMO anyway. I'm used to a little firmer ride though, I had a Wheeler's pack on my 1st gen, and I thought the stock 2nd gen springs rode like a Caddy. The overload shouldn't even matter until you go past flat, other than adding their thickness in lift.

I did pull the shortest of the AAL. I figured I'd rather have an overload leaf than not, and I thought I'd rather have it a little soft than too firm, plus with the full AAL pack + the overload thickness it might end up higher than I wanted.

I don't know that it would've been too firm or too high with all 3 extra leaves, but I do know I'm happy with both the way I did it. Plus the last leaf is way short for the overload to hit it, so it'd have to sink that much more to flex past that one and hit the next leaf.

Will I need extended break lines for either of these options on my 3rd gen? Probably about 100 lbs in the bed, thinking about the HS 3 leaf. Thanks!

Been looking at this kit too and wondering which AAL option to go with. Seems like the single holds weight better but rides stiffer; whereas, the 3 leafs rides smoother. Am I understanding that right?

Also, lots of people said they would post up pictures or updates on their rides. Any update by you guys? And how much lift does the 3 pack provide-I’m leaning that way

Great info. I’m on the fence on this exact same set up. Looking at the H.S. Bilstein 2” coils up front and 3 leaf for the back of my 2011 DCLB. Looking at wanting 2” with a slight rake on the back. Anyone have this setup they can comment on? Thanks in advance.

Just installed Deaver single, kept overload and can say:
    1. Easy install.
    2. Exactly 1 5/8” lift.
    3. Rides the same as stock.
