Bought a Smittybilt rood top tent and would like to add another bar in the middle just to have more peace of mind on my camper shell. Has anyone added a 3rd bar and put mounting hardware on that bar? Was trying to find extra hardware and smittybilt doesn’t have any online. Tepui and Tuff Stuffs website has hardware mounting kit that look exactly like smittybilts. Does anyone know if they’re the same?

I did the same thing with my Smittybilt tent. I’ll see if I can dig up where I bought my hardware.

Glad someone else think like me. I may just be a little paranoid but having 6 mounting points eases my mind a little bit if one were to ever come loose. I won’t be doing anything crazy Offroad. Just some beach driving and driving about 5-6 hours to the beach.

Funny, that is the link I was about to send you. I don't have the history of where I bought mine, but I think they are all the same. I mounted mine on tube bed bars, so rather than using flat stock mounts, I went and picked up matching exhaust tube clamps to match the diameter of the bars. The curved mount clamp much more effectively secures the tent to the bars than the flat stock.
