And it looks like either S&F’s or Federal’s pump truck also. I see their rigs early morning on the Pike.

    (Sigh) What a week.

I got bumped in traffic on Monday. No damage, but I literally saw it coming. Dude behind me starts rubbing his eyes while creeping forward and bang! Work was meh, wife was sick, baby wanted nothing to do with me. I ordered a bunch of parts for the Vette to redo front end lighting but now feel super guilty I spent the cash.

I also bough a wall mount to hang my guitars and was kinda bummed out when I received it. It's 36" long, so I assumed it would easily hit two studs and be a simple mount. Nope, it's 10" on center and there's 4 mounts. The instructions say to hit one stud and use toggle bolts for the other 3 mounts. So I got the stud and 2 of the 3 toggle bolts. I hit a duct with one of the bolts, so I switched over to a sturdy metal hollow wall mount. I ended up getting it hung, but I wasn't confident at all in how strong it was.

You can see on the top how it's pulled from the wall a bit. The guitars themselves also sit further off the wall than I had hoped and interfere with the door. So I found another place to mount it, but those stupid 10" holes are going to drive me nuts. I'm going to have my uncle come over and take a gander since he's super gifted when it comes to all things woodworking. My thought is to use some plywood the same size as the mount and bolt that to studs then bolt the mount to the plywood and call it good.

Of course since I had to drill 5/8" holes for the toggle bolts I've got huge areas I need to touch up with compound and I'm absolutely awful at it. I see every flaw and when I try to fix them, I just make them worse.

    I need a vacation.

I still mess with my Ibanez occasionally, check my album pics. Had it since I was 11.

Depending on the size you used, those toggles can work well. I used 2 to mount a dish rack in my kitchen a few years ago and it ain't moved a hair.

I've had the red Tokai strat since I was 9 or 10 myself. The others were cheap purchases from friends except the acoustic which was a gift. It was a cheap guitar and has issues as such. I need to file the frets at a minimum.

I ended up changing locations and mounting a board to the wall via studs and then the mount to the board, hitting one stud with 1 of the 4 mounts. Ultimately I wasn't satisfied with the mount there, so I said screw it and drilled a hole through on the opposite side and screwed in a lag screw. I changed out the supplied bolt in the stud with another lag screw. It's not going anywhere. It's a shame to have a screw visible, but it's better than guitars on the floor.
