Warn Semi Hidden winch bumper (New for 3rd gen Tacoma)

Those lights look great! What mounts did you use if you don’t mind me asking?

 

They are very bright for 100 dollars! Figure if they burn out I can replace them 14 times before I hit the price of ARBs!
The mounts were just some I found on Amazon. They are made with inserts for different size bars. For the hoop on the bumper no insert is required. Just search light bar mounts on amazon and a bunch will come up.

 

So from what I'm reading there should be no issues with the TSS sensor on my 18 with the sensor in the round toy emblem in the stock grill ….?

Just ordered the mount and a VR10-S for my 2018 Pro. Will report back on TSS and cruise functionality. I've been driving for 40 years without them, so not too worried if they don't work, but will likely look for a relocation solution if it doesn't.

 

For those that have the Warn hidden bumper and winch combo, I'm curious to know how your lifted front suspension is handling the additional weight. I have the Warn bumper mated to a Smittybilt winch and I'm riding on 5100's with OME 887 coils set on second notch of the Billy's. Moving to the second notch compensated for some of the sag but I still feel a lot of droop when applying the brakes. I've inquired about replacing 887's with 886's but I've been told more than once by people more experienced then myself that 886's may provide to much force to the 5100's, causing them to prematurely fail.

What are some of your setups and have you experienced any similar issues?

I should have my stuff installed this weekend and plan to measure the amount of sag, but don't have any experience to share yet. I am a little concerned about the added weight, but it's not much more than with other hidden winch solutions.

What I can say is that you have only pre-loaded your springs to get the lift back -- the spring rate is still the same. The fact that you had to preload them tells me you probably need a higher spring rate. As long as the OME springs aren't significantly preloaded on the 5100's on the lowest notch, I don't get the force issue, and even that would only come in to play when fully extended.

With the additional weight off the front, I would expect it to handle a bit differently, but if you were sagging significantly with no preload and it is dipping a lot, I don't see any reason not to go with the 886's.

 

I have 5100s on stock coils on the second clip. I sagged about 1 inch. Probably gonna just wait for coilovers at this point because I dont want to hassle with raising these just to replace in a few months. My 5100s have about 50k on them with lots of off road. Probably time to replace anyway.

Got my bumper and winch installed on my 2018 TRD Pro. Here's my impressions and results:

- Bumper is well-designed and the install was not too difficult even with no help (I have daughters who, along with their mother, claim their arms are only for decoration). While the box it arrived in was completely trashed and had been repaired extensively with extra tape, the bumper itself was not damaged.

- Based on before and after measurements, I lost 0.25" in height (VR10-S winch). Not really enough to be concerned with, but may consider some small spacers at some point if I seem to be hitting the front skid more often.

- I did not use the controller extension that came with the bumper. The winch has a protective cover for the plug that I prefer to leave in place. I have to reach in there to release the drum anyway, not too much more difficult to plug in the controller at the same time. But, it's nice that they included it.

- I can definitely tell there is more weight up front when driving, but I quickly got used to it. Not really that much different. Truck feels well-balanced with a load.

- The hoop does interfere with the TSS. I don't use cruise control really, but assume it interferes with that as well. I may just cut the hoop off and do some grinding and refinishing. Relocation of the sensor seems a bit janky, so likely won't mess with that.

- At least one person mentioned being concerned about the mounting of the bumper to the front of the frame. Based on the size of the bolts that attach the winch to the bumper, as well as the extra bolts and brackets attaching the bumper to the vehicle, I have no worries at all that it is solid.

Does anyone know if two Baja designs lp6 lights will fit below the hoop on this bumper or any other bumper with a similar style?

 

Hey man quick question what do you do after you remove the black piece for the radiator, because in other bumpers I've seen there is a relocation kit, but the bumper warn I brought doesnt have it

Didn't remove any radiator piece.

 

I just followed the instructions, you can get them from their site if they are missing. There were some supports between the fascia and the radiator support that had to be taken off to get the winch in, but you put it all back like it was.
