Went from a Tacoma to 4Runner

Just brought home a 4Runner and although i love it, i was definately sad getting rid of the Tacoma. Very SAD! Current situation needed more rear seat space and closed secure storage.

Anyone else have this feeling?

I rented one for a week not that long ago and I can tell who wears pants in your family.
Nice car though..

 

I actually prefer hopping into the Runner every once in a while. Smoother ride, more refined and just all around smoother drivetrain.

 

hahah transmission is exhausting on the Tacoma or at least mine was. Everytime I pulled up to a stop sign sounded as if gear slipped out, followed by a thump.

 

Not sure what is you typography, but that thing likes to shift in mountains as well.
Need to push over 2k to get her going anyway. Yes, smoother, but minivanish. That turn radius..

I had a '94 4runner, '03 4runner and '15 Tacoma.

The Taco was totally bad-ass and I did love it. But, the crappy seats and road noise made me miss the 4runner.

It really depends on what you need in a vehicle. They're both great trucks!

 

I'll never understand why anyone that doesn't need and use the bed would elect to own a truck. Apples and oranges. Congrats and enjoy.

 

They are all over this forum and I would say a majority of owners, trucks are the new hip thing, "look I drive a truck, I'm rugged, handy, off road, etc. as I'm driving to my cubicle during the week and the mall on the weekend."

 

Got both, if I didn’t surf and need a bed I would have two 4runners.

I used the bed a lot (at least once every other week), but also have a utility trailer to get the stuff around! Utility trailer got more use than the bed in the end... But yes tacoma and 4runner are manly

 

After owning one, I would be hard pressed to pick one over the other.
I use them both for different purposes. You will never find a “jack of all trades” vehicle.

Yeah this will likely be my next buy in a few years before they transition the 5th gen. I've defended this truck thus far but looking at my first service next week, I've got 11 complaints to be looked at. If I wanted problems I'd have bought a Jeep.
