I feel the same way and that's why it makes things confusing reading all those pages. So far it looks like everyone has different outcomes from the same setting. That makes it hard to come to a decision where to put the notch.
Right now it's notch 4 or 5 and then make an adjustment if needed. I still have to add sliders into the mix.

They definitely will give a better ride over stock, just a matter of getting the correct setting for your truck.

I think those are the ones I've heard seize up as well . Like you can't get them apart later without damaging the clip

Mine have been adjusted no problem .

But I drench my coilover with fluid film . And the shock body is mostly all aluminum

Gotta keep everything greased or apply a clear coat coating on the thing.

I wonder if I should forget about the 5100s and go straight to 6112s.

I have the 5100's currently. I am looking down the road for when I want to upgrade again.

My truck rides great with 5100's and OME 885's. I am pushing the front end weight a bit on the 885's with the 2" receiver up front., but its ok for now. If I add anymore weight to the front I will have to upgrade springs. Like 2nd battery setup

Yea I am looking at all the options as well for next time, the bp51's are sexy!

One more year and the truck is paid for, then things can really start o_O

I'm still trying to understand how you guys aren't all sagging being on 600lbs springs or less.

I'm on 600s and sag with all the armor and batteries

That battery is heavy up front. My front end is not exactly as high as it was before the install of the receiver from @Norilsk. I wouldnt call it sagging though. Sagging was how my truck looked before I upgraded the suspension. Low Rider.

Hmmm weather network is saying spring is in the air, so tempted to go up to the shop after I finish work today and change to the Coopers :cookiemonster:

Wait until you add the bumper and watch that front end go all the way down.

Would a 650 spring on a lower setting be similar to a 600 spring on a higher setting? Thinking that a 650 spring is stiffer so wouldn't it act similar to a compressed 600 spring? A 600 spring being softer might actually accommdate the compression better for a better ride. Might be the reason people on notch 5 say ride isn't bad.
    Just thinking out loud here.

When you compress the spring I becomes stiffer as you are also loosing travel. So with your heavier 650 spring you shouldn’t have to crank it up thus being a softer ride. In theory.

Do we know the spring rate of a spring say at every inch of travel? Like how much force needed to push it down.

I’m not to sure. I don’t believe the rate changes but the down travel or something to that extent is limited...so instead of the spring sagging it allows it to be leveled out. I may be wrong as I haven’t looked at this for a while.

I just remember that cranking or adjusting the coilover will limit travel. Just don’t remember up or down.

From what I'm reading I guess the actual spring weight is the the force needed to push it down 1 inch. So 650 will require 650lbs to push it down 1 inch. That sound correct?
I'm being a bit scientific here, trying to get a grasp and understanding of all this spring shit.

This that and the other thing.
I just find it hard to believe that there aren't any sacrifices being made on the 4th or 5th notch and a 610 spring hahaha either in ride quality or travel for that matter.

You're right. That's why I started thinking that maybe because 610 springs end up requiring less force to compress than a 650, that perhaps the higher notch isn't that harsh. From #3 to #5 is approx. 1 inch difference. and that doesn't seem like a lot for a spring that size.

Plus you have the steel skid too right?
I have 5100s.. Haven't installed them yet, waiting on getting springs . But 6112s come with springs..hmm.

Problem is I'm already broke haha.
