    Hello -
I have a 2016 DCSB that has the technology package with the Entune system. When getting into the truck today, I found that the system keeps rebooting. It flashed the Toyota logo, then the warning about using the device', it then gets to the home screen, and shuts off and goes through this process all over again. Nothing new has been added to the truck, nor any work done in a few weeks. I do have a remote starter, which I am planning on disconnecting to see if that does anything - but thought I would ask my fellow Taco owners if they have ever seen anything like this. Obviously, if I have to take it to the dealer I will need the starter disconnected anyway...but hoping this is something simple. I have warranty coverage on the truck, but of course would prefer to avoid the inconvenience to driving it to them and leaving it...

    Thank you!

If you have the warranty, then don't touch it. Call and make a appointment for this and take it in. You messing around with will give a right to decline warranty. This is a common issue in these trucks. Take it in

Is this common? I am a new owner, but was unsure. I will, however, need to disconnect the plug and play starter before i put it in.

I will give it a try - but I am not sure that the unit will stay powered on long enough to do this. I was unable to go into the apps menu previously - but will try it again with the usb plugged in.

There is a thread or 2 a day started about this topic. Usually has to do with a loose/damaged wire harness.

No dice. The unit does not stay running long enough to select options like audio source, apps, etc..

Remote starter has been removed, the condition persists. So, if anyone else has thoughts of things I can check while waiting to get to the dealership - input is appreciated! Not that I am gonna start hacking into things - but dont mind checking the easy things that wont void warranties or anything...

Took mine in for the same problem. They are ordering a new one at the cost of $1500. Warrant will pay for this but was wondering if I could not have them install it, sell it, and get something aftermarket with Apple Car Play. Thoughts?

Check through your Entune if there's an update available. It may need an update downloaded from dealer.
It fixed mine. Mine was doing all sorts of weird things.

    Very Flaky Issue.

Once my phone was taken away from the truck and it disconnected from bluetooth - it magically stopped rebooting. The dealer did a manual reset on it, once it stayed on long enough to get into the menu. Worked fine ever since (although it worked fine for weeks before the issue started, too...). Who knows? I sure dont, but it is working normally now...
