Got me a trasharoo for our camping adventures this summer, will work as intended! Happy overall with the quality. It’s a tank of gas worth of sadifaction to keep the mess outside the cab after a long weekend! Worth the $

Yes I did measure with them on the truck, but I jacked up the corner to take the weight off of it. I will say however that I hadn't thought about how the rim size and specific air pressure could affect the overall diameter of the tire. This is the first time in 45 years that I have measured any tire on any vehicle that I've owned.

Finally tracked down a intermittent squeak/chirp when I would take off from a stop. I thought it was the serpentine belt or a brake not releasing after stopping. Well, after taking off each wheel and inspecting everything, replacing the belt and inspecting all pulleys and idlers, and tightening up the spare tire mechanism, I then got to look at the carrier bearing. Upon close inspection, noticed a tiny wear mark on the driveshaft yoke and the rubber that holds the bearing in place was broken down. It was broken down just enough to cause a chirp when accelerating from a stop as the axle wrapped slightly. Replaced the carrier unit and all is quiet again. Took two days to track that noise down (mainly because I don't hear very well).

I make them for 15 bucks, they are hand made and 3/16s steel, not 1/8th in.

Not what i did today, but what the truck did... dead stock battery after 6 years. Is it normal to have it sound like something is shorting out? Scared the shit outta me.

So what's everyone running as a replacement, before i search for that very specific thread?

I've used a SS towel rod before, you can cut it to the length you need using a pipe cutter, the kind a plumber uses, tighten around pipe and twist, very clean.

Installed my rear Sumo Springs with Wheelers 9/16" u bolts the other day. I had to throw them in a vise and bend them more, they were all too wide to fit in the brackets. Oh well, they were only $45 shipped so I can't complain. I just used the stock u bolt from each position as a guide. Best $230 I've spent on this truck aside from the 5100s and SCS wheels. Also got a half inch of lift, which is nice because the rear was starting to sag a tiny bit after about 4 loads of oak riding on the factory bumps off road and all the way to the grandma's house.
