Looking back at my Amazon orders, it looks like I ordered 2- 36sqft boxes of dyna mat, and 3- 12sqft rolls of dynamat

    Exactly.

Installing the sound proofing isn’t fun, but taking the interior apart isn’t either. Putting the interior back together again when you’re done is the worst part of it.

A dual battery kit, a mount that fits 2 batteries in stock location or a mount that fits a 2nd battery somewhere else.. a bunch of wire.. and probably like $800 or more

    Don't.

Move the batteries behind the seats or the bed.

The door panels are easy. 2 screws and yank. Pull from the bottom.

Yup, pull from the bottom. Pull away from the door shell, not up and away

4B4E4388-5823-4332-9C18-CFA229490CE3.jpg I know, I just got one off

But the clip mounts don’t look like they can handle another wrestling match
    36FBCBE4-079A-4F22-A509-7BC9F614DD6B.jpg

I’ll have to leave this panel off until my speakers get in. Last thing I need is a rattling door panel because the clip mount(s) broke. I’ll just knock it all out when everything is here

Didn’t realize you’re a 3rd gen. I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be a vapor barrier or what, but I ripped it all out. I didn’t have that foam stuff either.

The blue stuff is a vapor barrier, I can see water marks. And that “foam stuff” is Toyota’s sorry excuse for sound deadening. You just covered all the holes and stuff with the soundproofing and haven’t had any issues?

I put dynamat on the exterior door skin and little pieces on all the interior parts of the door skin, then a piece of dynaliner over the whole thing, then put the door panel back on.

I wanted to relocate originally because the battery was trying to take the front corner of my truck off. The radiator support and inner fender are cracked pretty bad.
Mounting in the cab made sense because it would be safe from the elements and I regularly take my bed off by hoisting it up and driving the truck from underneath. A bed mount would have complicated that.

I was inspired by this thread the most... https://www.tacomaworld.com/posts/10274246
... and this one on expeditionportal I can no longer find. 3C514020-A6C1-4D10-BC10-AF656DC4C3E9.jpg

My first iteration was 14ga 6061, which was too thin to weld with my spool gun, so I recreated it in Stainless.

I looked to buy a prebuilt cage for a while, but most fasten together with flanges to the front and rear. With a group 31 there’s just enough room for the battery with the back rest up, so I had to create a strap that fastened along the sides.

    Stainless version.

I secured the tray down and to the back wall with 6mm rivnuts.
I placed it right/center to counter some of the fuel weight.

    278738DF-ECA9-4B17-865A-14788850DAFC.jpg

Used a 2” thru hull fitting and some pieces of rubber gasket to build up the thickness of the sheet metal. I punched out an existing hole a little wider for the fitting.

The 4/0 cable is covered in DuraFlex, this was a serious pain in the ass. The Velcro version would have been worth the extra cost. I also used a heat resistant DuraFlex where the cables follow the frame next to my headers and into the engine bay. Along every visible run of positive cable I added a piece of red shrink wrap to identify the hot side.

I ran positive and negative the full length after reading about lots of grounding issues from other installs.

Most of the rubber lined stainless clips shared screws with fuel line clips that run the length on the driver's side. In other spots I used more rivnuts.
