The edges tend to flake off. Mine is like that too, just not as bad.

Actually, that looks like the edges were painted over very poorly.

Mounted new wheels and tires, after manually mounting and balancing them. Changed out the turn signal housings as the old were faded and made intermittent contact. Ripped out half of the driver side fender liner plastic as I'm sick of hearing it rub the tire on hard turns. PO had a ball joint failure which munched the driver's fender and liner. Reorganized the toolbox, I am slowly working through the glut of chemicals that istaking up so much room

Took measurements for my shocks today. Drivers side is 24 5/16”, passenger is 24 3/8”. Which means means the 10” 5125s I currently have are just over 1.5” too long. Is it that big of a deal to have them 1.5” too long? Just would limit up travel and need to use a bigger bump stop?

Since one appears to be leaking, I would like to replace them but I haven’t found anything besides the 5125 that would come in a 10” stroke...without breaking the bank.

That works, you'll just lose an inch of up travel.

P2238...anyone have experience with this code? Was on a trail today and whenever my truck bounced around violently my engine would cut out and dash lights would come on. Eventually the CEL illuminated and showed a P2238....something about my AFR sensor circuit being bad?

Confused how an AFR sensor code would cause my truck to loose power intermittently...anyone experience this?

Driving home on the freeway was fine minus the CEL, but as soon as the truck starts bouncing around the symptoms start

It was weird I could hear arcing or some kind of electrical zapping going on in the engine bay when it would happen...Definitley something loose I just don't know what. Guess I'll start by looking at the AFR sensor tomorrow and check it's connection

Anyone run 285’s on stock wheels (or whatever wheels these are)?

I’ve realized if my 255’s rub the frame with my Steelies the 285’s won’t be fine.

Developed a misfire over the last three days, today I made it stumble long enough to trip the CEL. P0301, so I moved the coil pack to another cylinder and the code followed the coil pack. So my barely over 200K 3rz is getting 4 new Denso coil packs. I'm thrilled because last time this happened, my P0301 was a sucked valve that led to finding the head was cracked.

Replaced my auto shifter bushings this afternoon. One was completely rotten away and one tore apart when I removed it. I was surprised since my truck only has 125,000 on it. Once I added a transfer case to the truck the added vibration was just enough to cause the shifter to rattle 24/7 on the highway. It has zero play at all now. The red bushing is hiding behind the transfer case lever.

I got them from @Brice I think it's crazy how bad these get on our trucks. It would be interesting to see what the bushings look like on a garaged stupid low miles truck.

There are multiple different install videos on YouTube. Just search 1st gen tacoma auto shifter bushing. I wouldn't follow the guide by APDTY. They took apart things that had no business being touched to do the job. I've seen APDTY on Amazon and @Brice selling the bushings themselves.

Have you looked into Doetsch Tech shocks? Reasonably priced and they have worked very well for me.
