What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Thanks for the reply. If it wasn't a 4x4, I wonder how he got on the beach. The attendants who collect the access fee always ask if you have a 4x4, as well as the signs posted. The sand is super-soft this time of year. By late summer, it's almost like driving on the beach in Daytona or Cocoa - really hard-packed.

 

Our pollen plague is about two weeks away. I've got a power washer on order as last year I fought it off with a garden hose which was far less than effective.

Okay cool. I'm holding out for a set of 17" 4Runner TRD wheels in gray. I'm just having a hard time wrapping my head around ditching my current 16" set up with so few miles on them. We'll see how the disposable cash goes after I finish the spring house projects that are on the board.

Waiting on some goodies to come in, so I went ahead and started to de-chrome the interior. I plan to use the vinyl overlays for everything, but I didn't like the way it looks on the steering wheel sombrero. I went the hard way and removed it to paint. Didn't have any satin black, so I went with a dark graphite, and I like the way it turned out. Doesn't really show up in the picture.

The sign says, "4x4 recommended", this time of year it should be mandatory!

 

Did the spare tire elevator relocation mod. Scooting it a little back towards the bumper. Now a full size 33” tire won’t rub on the diff. Quick and easy if you have metal drill bits.

Mx4 backflip

 

I reconfigured bike racks going back several vehicles to come up with this. It's cobbled together, but the bikes fit, and the tonneau covers everything. Plan is to leave in the bed, but can slide out if necessary.

 

Plasti dipped the rear bumper and ordered blackout factory replacement TRD OR graphics for the bed.
