Soo it looks like the 02 sims and j-bung with smallest Orfice is working for me so far, had 2 permanent codes with the o2 sims alone, and installed the j-bung In conjunction with the 02 sims and my permanent codes are gone no check engine for the last 200 miles, and looks like on the scanner all my systems for smog are complete, and reading. Soo the 02 sims and j-bung worked for my 2015 with no cats so far, fingers crossed it stays that way.

Little I’d update on my OVTUNE....

Basically I’ve tried and tried with no success to upload my truck’s info into the handheld. It reads (once I get to the upload my truck data screen) “warning calibration file not found” it also shows my ECU number. I’ve tried updating the handheld numerous times. I’ve tried deleting the software then reinstalling it, updating again, then to my truck with no avail and same result.

This is an open box unused item. I’m waiting for mat’s reply for what to do next.

Pretty frustrating to say the least.....

Try this. When I got mine I updated the software on my computer the updated the firmware on the handheld.

I followed the directions to get my stock as per the instructions no issue. I then downloaded that file off the ha shelf and sent to OVtune to get programmed.

When I got the file back I then realized I needed the TRD tune first. I got the TRD tune flashed from Toyota and started the process all over to download my truck sc TRD tune to the handheld. When I went through the instructions my handheld kept saying calibration file not found.

I went back into the software with handheld plugged in and wiped it clean. I deleted every file on it. After this, when I plugged it into my truck it worked flawlessly downloading my stock sc TRD tune to then put on my computer via the software and send to OVtune.

I had no issues after that uploading the new file back from Mat.

Bottom line: wipe it clean on your computer. It will show your ECU but I still had that issue.

Yes. Delete any and all preexisting profiles or tunes on it. There is a button to delete all files. It appears as though this wipes any profile and then it will accept yours

Yeah, the instructions are helpful but don’t address when the machine is used and only new without any preexisting data on it. Once it has a profile and you plug it in to the vehicle, it is trying to upload a file instead download your stock file in accordance with the instructions. This is why it reads calibration file not found instead of pulling your ECU data file.

Got some good news that I'm cautiously optimistic about. Took my truck into the tuning shop I've been in contact with and they scanned my ecu. They said they can fully tune my truck with the proprietary software they've developed. Full custom tune including larger injectors, meth, etc. Looking at the beginning of April to get a tune.

Also got clarification on workarounds for the MAF max of 322 g/s. Scaling is only possible if the maf signal is not maxed out in voltage. If the signal has enough available voltage then it can be scaled. Otherwise, a larger tube will have to be used or the map sensor. Tundra maf is another potential experiment.

Does anyone have good data on their maf voltage when they're seeing maf readings maxed out at 322 g/s?

That’s all I got. I might be able to see more. I’ll have to wait till Monday to check tho. I have the data saved on my laptop at work.

Awesome, this makes perfect sense. I’m computer illiterate but my wife has the brains when it comes to this stuff. However, I do understand what you are saying. So Mat told me this is an unused handheld. That being said, I now believe it was most likely at the very least plugged into the vehicle of the previous owner......When I initially plugged it into my truck it showed a Tacoma right away and showed a 4.0 engine. I had yet to download/upload anything. So what you said makes all the sense in the world.......wipe it, then try to upload my truck’s info.......this should be my answer! I’m at the firehouse so I’ll have the wife wipe it. I’ll retry the process in the morning.....first thing. :fingerscrossed:

Yes. Absolutely. According to the instructions it will force you to go through the vehicle selection. If it didn’t then it already had a profile in it.

Yeah that makes sense. I plugged it in, it did show Tacoma right away and I hit the red arrow to the right to swipe to the next screen, next it showed “4.0 engine” again swipe right to ensure the motor is on and start download. Then stalled on that screen
