Bright lights in bikes are a totally different animal. Loud pipes and bright lights save lives.

Got pulled over on base once for not having a reflective safety jacket on once because they scream military. I had LED turn signals and HIDs. He said he couldn’t see me.. and I was like then I guess I won’t be getting hassled anymore if you can see me on my bike right now. My bike basically had a halo around it .. no ticket for me :)

know what you mean.....the Marine Corps was definitely on top of that....they check you entering the gate.....in town, and on streets I now were a mesh jacket over my protective jacket that has a yellow reflective stripe......my helmet has reflectivity all around......the Clearwater lights are the best.....if you cant see me coming, you should not be on the road.....

Are these the Philips H9 +30 bulbs being referred to? As far as I can tell, there is only one part number on the philips.co.uk site, which is 12361B1, but sometimes it is referred to as "Vision" and sometimes "Vision +30" on eBay. You can buy part number 12361B1 on Amazon.ca, in fact that is what I have in my truck right now. They are not called "Vision" in Canada, box says "standard".

I believe 12361B1 is their part number for an H9 as I’ve seen it on both Vision and Standard bulbs, but they are not the same. The bulbs are not sold as ‘standard’. Vision +30 appears to be the older branding, it looks like Philips dropped the +30 and now just refers to them as “Vision” to differentiate it from “standard”. Vision H9s are not imported to North America from what I can tell, meaning you need to order out of Europe. Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.de or eBay. If you have a domestic Amazon account it works internationally, and it will automatically charge you in your local currency to avoid any international exchange rate hits from your bank.

Hmm. Did you try Amazon.co.uk? I’ve ordered a few things from the UK site without issues. I though someone had ordered from the German one, but maybe it was the French site, .fr.

amazon.co.uk will not ship Philips Vision to Canada. Neither will amazon.de. amazon.fr will, but US$32 per bulb for a pair. I got Hella H9s for US$7.49 per bulb for four, incl shipping and Canadian tax, from Rockauto.

Normal Philips H9 for now. Then the Hella H9s. I have a pair of GE +130s when the Hellas fail, so I should be good for 3 years.

    EDIT: math is hard

Canada certainly seems to make it difficult. Did you try eBay?

eBay guy I saw is advertising "Vision +30" but pretty sure they are really Standard. I think those folks are stripping bulbs out of accidented cars, seems sketchy.

I will scare up a lux meter at work and measure the Standard ones I bought from Amazon.ca. Stay tuned.

Definitely don’t be buying a used bulb.

US$30 per bulb! My exes will tell you I am crazy, but I ain't stupid. Right now I think the Hella H9s 8539.29.1000 from Rock Auto have the best price/performance figure for Canadians, C$10 (US$7.49) per bulb for four, all in.Screen Shot 2019-03-16 at 19.54.37.jpg

I paid $60.70 CAD from Power Bulbs for one pair of the GE +130's.

The Hellas are definitely a far better value, as the Philips Visions are pricey and only available from overseas. I got mine here for less in the link below, but they came loose, not in the original packaging, which I did not like. The bulbs appear new, and testing showed the do in fact outperform a standard H9, meaning they were the Vision series but I’d rather pay more and get them in a sealed original box.

Looks like you forgot to use the 20% off coupon code always posted on their site. Sometimes it bumps up to 25% off.

Aurora represent! I went to SAC back in the day when the drugs were pure.

You don't have to pay that much for the GE 130s from PowerBulbs, this is what I paid with a coupon code (but I have been dealing with them for years):

Still saying the Hella H9s from Rock Auto are the best deal.

I TOTALLY get the astronomical amount of crap I have to wear on post (Fort Knox), but they have pretty much given up trying to enforce most of it. Agree with loud pipes and bright lights.

Bright lights sure, but at least in the off-road community “Loud pipes lose land”. Not that I can really talk since I have an FMF Powercore on my WR250R...

And if off-road ANd headlight related stuff, I changed the top headlight on my Honda Rancher from the stock H10 to a 9005 that I pulled from my wife CRV for 9011 bulbs. There’s a solid chance I’ll also be replacing the stock H4 headlight with an LED projector on my WR as well. Everybody getting new lights in this house.
