It’s a valve between the two bags. When closed the bags are isolated and like a normal install.

When open it allows the air to travel freely between the bags. When you articulate the rear axle one bag compresses and pushes the air to the drooped side bag.

Gotcha. Yeah, I can't believe some ppl plumb their bags that way all the time. Like an anti-anti-swaybar. Wondered if that was what you meant.

That’s silly to have just a cross over, unless super articulation is wanted... with no load carrying capacity. The cross over will have a valve controlled by a switch in the cab, so I can open and close as needed/wanted. Mostly it’s to gain my lost articulation with the Timbrens, and keep some form of load capacity.

I have a sinking sensation that I’ll be running a spring under kit before too long.

there are times when I wish I had gotten a Habitat... I love the design and the rear overhang.

Living vicariously through the Flippac now.

Flippacs are legit, and im sure you did not spend ~9k on it.

The bed size is bigger which is nice if you have 2 people, the couple big downsides for me would be the inability to use walls for mounting things (the fiberglass construction overall) and the biggest definitely the tent. The tent on the AT (made my Nemo) has been awesome in all sorts of weather.

So true. Without the SLO rainfly the tent is shit.

I'm working with a tent manufacturer in Ny this Spring to design a replacement tent for the Flippac. :fingerscrossed:

Id bet there would be a good market for something like that. I think the Flippac fits the bill for alot of people.

It would be limited but I'd like to come up with a replacement that does not require the fly. Also something with better screens/windows.
The only disappointing part of this thing is the shitty design of the tent itself. Everything else is fantastic.

are there any type of (additional) support struts for the overhang? seems like a good solid "rockin'" and momma would tear the house down.

Nope, but it has a 600lb capacity in the Habitat's bed. It feels good and solid. I will say the wife and I only add up to about 320, though.

I finally went through with mounting some L-track on my older style Habitat, as the turn in the weather motivated me to get my awning mounted. It went well enough, but I'm a little worried. For those of you who have installed rivnuts on the sides, what grip-range did the rivnuts you used have? I ordered two kinds, one 0.027–0.165 in. and the other 0.165–0.26 in. It seemed like I should use the deeper ones but I had problems with installing them cleanly (in fact one is now trapped in the insulation panel). I ended up using the shorter rivnuts, even though it seems like they didn't "pull" very much.

I also have a problem with the Awning brackets, the weight of the awning just puts too much leverage on them and they already bent. I'm thinking of running a 1/4" x 1.5" bar of aluminum that would also mount to a lower track to help stabilize and distribute the weight. I just want it to fucking work already :(

Yikes! Yeah, looks like you need some more support. Wouldn't want to have your awning bounce and brake off.

    Also, I believe mine were m6 rivnuts, 0.5mm-3mm, or 0.0197 inch - 0.118 inch.

O yeah, and we lost one inside the wall as well. Had to drill two out that were poorly lined up.

Use short pieces of the track mounted vertically so you can get another attachment above the first. Maybe extend the track down to use for other purposes. Lights stored behind the flip up door that clip to the track maybe.

Edit-Oops, not a door but the lights are still a nice idea under the awning.

Plan is to mount a second track on the lower portion parallel with the top. Then I can attach cross bars running vertically.
