2019 Formula 1 Season Paddock

I’m east coast, and am going to take a cat nap from 9pm-midnight, get up and make coffee to watch the red lights go off!!


I didnt stay up for qualifying, and i had to leave my phone in the garage to ensure i wouldnt check this thread before i saw the results

 

I’m going to try watching it live...but it’ll be hard. I did watch qualifying that I had DVR’d.

How many sets of tires do they get for qualifying?

Are they set for the whole race and they’ve got to rotate in the qualifying tires if needed?

Can they choose what compound to run in qualifying?

...I should probably google these questions. I’ve got a bunch more around tires so I’ll save those for google.

I’ll be trying to stay up, but it’s dvr’d just in case I don’t make it. Been up since 5 am so we shall see what happens haha

 

Speaking of, did you see him break the lap record at Sebring? They also won but really still they are just racing the sister car. Winning is Winning though and he has been deprived of it for quite a while.

Maybe in Russia, or Italy id say yes and hope for it... but I think passing is hard to come by on this track. I think a lot of the new/young drivers are going to have their elbows out and making themselves as wide as possible..

EDIT: I mean I do hope it happens, would make for an exciting first race of the season...that and he is on my one fantasy team for "turbo points"

^^^ this definitely. Quite surprised that Honda had some pace, kept the pace, and didn’t grenade. Otherwise, quite uneventful race IMO after the sandbags were actually thrown off,,,, or not.

 

To early to tell much since its the first race. But man I hope Red Bull and Ferrari can find pace to keep up with the Mercs. Hopefully the Honda's can stay reliable throughout the year.

If the Merc's remain dominant I hope it's Bottas that wins the Championship. Well done Redbull and Honda to outpace Ferrari. I think they should have gave Leclerc the pass over Vettel or at least pitted him for softs so he could get fastest lap. I really like this 1 point for fastest lap. Adds more excitement and could be a key point for end of season battles.

 

Deja vu for the Haas team; Australia 2018 they had issues with GRO in the pits, today he got held up 5+ seconds in there, and then eventually retired due to faulty front suspension, he could've been in that 7th-11th place battle... MAG looked confident behind the wheel i thought.

Id like to see Haas get it together as a team this year and have both drivers give them a chance at being in the top4 for the constructors cup...VER won't be able to carry all the weight of Red Bull with GAS down below points scoring.
