Ignition coils

You know, you have a 5yr 60k Powertrain warranty? Could have warrantied it, save ya some money.

 

maybe its because now most electronics are build in China

 

60k mile warranty doesnt do much good at 67k

Pride of craftsmanship has gone out the window because the majority of parts are now being outsourced to other countries where the labor rates are literally pennies on the dollar. The true definition of "sweatshop."

 

Not denso products toyota uses, they are solid. I doubt the coils failed on the OP. More thank likely the shotty plugs he installed. The OEM copper plugs are purely the only plug that should be in our engine.

 

Problem solved.. bad coil pack. Imaginary scenarios such as shotty plugs, poor maintenance and so forth.. fact is bad ignition coil. Others have had problems with their coil packs. Fact is 2016 has some minor bugs.. electrical, engine idle, transmissions, overheat on a steep incline

Copper? As opposed to what? You do know, the OEM Denso FK20HBR8 is an iridium-tipped plug?

 

Not the ones that I had. I'll look in my tool box at the old ones but I had NGK R

 

Interesting...and these came out of a 3rd Gen 3.5L V6?

 

Yes brand new purchase. Did my plugs at 30k.

I got the plugs at toyota, NGK R with dual electrodes. Same thing that came out. Freakin not cheap 11 bucks a piece.

 

Do you have a part number?
I'm not seeing anything on NGK's website for our application.

 

i agree....i think all dense are made in Japan

 

Are you sure the old plugs NGK didn't have IR written on them? The IR plugs are an iridium tipped plug. The price you paid is more in line with an iridium plug but I can't find anything on NGK's website.

 

Could be IR I can check my sales slip when i get home. Price is at cost plus 10% I get all my OEM parts at this rate thru a friend.

Mine at 120k look nearly new still. That thing is trashed

 

some one has something for a bad habit

they are inadvertently grounding out

really depends on HOW u installed them & the routing
