Torches are super focused. You can zip a nut of a bolt with 1/2 of space

 

Was it an oxygen/ace torch. There's lots of different torch tips too, I use a 3/16 tip or 1/4. The cutting torch has a lever to boost oxygen so that you can use it on lower heat to heat things a bit and maneuver it, then squeeze the lever and it goes up to a level where it'll melt metal fast

 

You don't want to heat the stud you want to heat the metal around it. Get a plumbers torch(Goss or Benzomatic) and some MAP gas. Then just heat the metal the studs in slowly. It'll back out.

You guys are killing me. I grew up in Jersey and have lived in Cali the last 15 years. There are only two things I miss. Bagels and pizza. I haven't had a good slice in years. On the plus side I haven't had to break out the MAP gas to free up a nut in years either. lol

 

Map gas? Meh. I use my inductive heater. So nice. If that doesn’t work I melt the bitch with the big boy torch
