You know those guys who never “modded” a Tacoma before TW

Same guys who initially thought bull bars made sense

Same guys who bolt on every single thing that can bolt onto a Tacoma

Same guys who shopped at Tacoma beast before the fiasco

Are the same guys who think a diesel in a Tacoma makes sense. Juuuuust in case they have to overland through Myanmar. Just in case. So they have fuelz.

What about the guys who are getting their frame boxed. Can we include them?

I don’t know enough about this steel and the long term effects of stiffening the frame, or the unintended consequences (frame or body cracks elsewhere due to increased stiffness at other points) to make a call on that. In other words, I’m not an engineer, and I don’t even know the frame composition. The OLD me would be all about it though. That said, the guys actually doing this are probably engineers, like the ones at Toyota. Otherwise, well, that would just be foolhardy.

Legit. Older toasters had flex issues which led to catastrophic nichrome wire disintegration.

He went senile later in life and fully-boxed the dog, followed by granny. That’s when they put him away.

The hilux imo looks like the truck you should buy (diesel 4x4) used from one of the mexican companies getting rid of em. Then you upgrade tf out of everything and take it out on the trail. Look at 4WD Action. One of those guys takes a modded out hilux and goes hard. Im sure he would use a tacoma instead if he could get one, but you get it. The other guy uses a damn isuzu D-Max. Ive seen those isuzu vehicles in Mexico and just thought that they were another off brand vehicle that 3rd world countries like Australia and Mexico have, but no that thing is modded out and goes hard af too. IDK what Im talking about anymore I guess Im just ranting about those trucks being pretty good.

    Sorry.

Power seats and more control through the head unit wouldn't be enough to justify the uptick in price for me.

Jealousy reveals itself in strange ways. Usually rolly laughing faces. I have a nice truck, but am certainly jealous of the OP dude about to buy one with power seats. Let’s wish him well!

That and the fact that I already cut into my truck...Theres something about not having electric seats that yells "Hey this aint no overmaller vehicle, move the lever like if you had testicles"

The silly part is it's likely the seats won't go any lower to gain headroom. This is nothing more than a move by Toyota to make this truck appeal to short gals and short dudes. I know everyone in here likes to claim their 6', but the seat spacer thread and the quest for power seats says Napoleon

They were in the board room, or where ever they design the Tacoma. Some one said the word Denali, and the power seat Tacoma was born.

I chalk it up to ZERO actual upgrades for a real-world off road utility truck.

But for highway-use passenger vehicle to someone accustomed to nice desk chairs, I’m sure the power adjustability will be just swell.
