Bought the wife a new '19 Camry. Now it's my turn. Was looking at the SRs but somehow found myself driving a god damn 42k silver TRDOR with more bells and whistles than friggin Mercedes. Has the expensive premium package. Even has a sunroof. Has everything I've ever wanted and ten times what I don't give a hoot about. Got the salesman to knock off 9% of MSRP. Didn't commit......yet. Probably will Monday when I go pick up the Camry.

I really don't like the 5' bed. Wanted a 6' bed and access cab. Those are hard to find around here that are not Sports

Ive owned 2 camry's. Had a 2011 for a year, was a good car but traded for the 12 when it came out cuz thats what you do when you are a salesman at Toyota... & my demo was a 12 Camry v6 se. Wife fell in love with it so made the swap. She loved it.

And obviously I love the Tacoma...

Hold out for the truck you want. The dealer just tries to sell what they have. Be patient and check other dealers if possible or ask your dealer to find the truck you want... you are paying them for what you want, not buying something they have. If they’re a good dealer, they’ll get you the truck you want.

The 2020 will be revamped so you could hold out for a little while but that’s up to you.

ACLB is the way to go. Double cab would only be convenient for me like twice a year

Either way the Tacoma is a great truck. If you want the long bed and are not in need of a truck right now, hold out for the one you want or use this to your advantage. I walked out of the same dealership 3 different times while telling the salesman that "I don't have to buy a truck today, but you need to sell a truck today." I waited and the truck I really wanted came to me at a time when I had sort of quit looking for a while. Got it at a price I was comfortable with and am happy.
Keep that in mind and don't let the new car fever take over, you may have regrets later. Unless you can get a much better deal on a truck that is not your first choice, then go for it.

My 3rd gen Tacoma is my first "new" truck in over 45 years of driving (my 8th pickup). I knew what I was looking for and went on the Tacoma site and put together the exact truck that I wanted, even the color. Went to the dealer and ordered it in July, picked it up in September. My advice is to test drive the drive train you are interested in, pick out the combination you want, then go to the web site and put together the truck you want with the options you choose and order it. Then when you pick it up you'll be happy as a pig in shit.

Report away. Gives the mods something to do to earn their pay.

In all seriousness though, the car was easy. The truck really has me thinking. Far more practical to buy a SR or SR5. But damn that TRDOR is sweet. Just that 5 foot bed stopping me.

Is it an appearance thing or usage thing or both for you? I was hauling a bunch of building materials from Lowe's today in my 5' bed (albeit a 2nd gen) and was very satisfied with its capacity. It surprises me sometimes. Also makes parking easy.

Get the one you want. Worth it in the long run. If you settle for something else you'll find yourself at the dealership yet again within the next 2 years

Buy the OR if you need the locker otherwise SR or SR5 will do everything you need

Usage mostly. I use my truck for work and hunting/fishing. Sounds dumb but I'm struggling right now with what to do with 6'6" or longer rods. I'm not leaning $200 a piece rods against the tailgate so that they can get damaged. I'm heading outside now to see what I can do about that so I can get by with a 5' bed.
