The main reason I like the switch is because it decrease the possibility of a mispull. Winches are strong and it's not unheard of for one to get stuck on or come on if a wireless controller fails. Then it folds in your bumper and when the rotor locks it draws enough amps to melt wiring and cause a fire. That said I dont run a switch, so use your best judgement

I thought the load draw on the 8500 Smittybilt was at 410amps? I got a 200amp breaker from what I read it should work for the XRC8.

I like the military terminals, very modular and very stout. Won't break the bank either

My guess is that will blow rapidly. But test it before you have to use it I guess. And be prepared to bypass it on the trail

I haven’t installed it yet but I’ll do some testing once it’s in.

Just return it. You'll pull 400A at max draw and 260A at 4000lbs. It's gonna trip and trip often.

Might be a dumb question but just want to confirm...the bank 1 sensor 1 air/fuel sensor is the same as what's also called the bank 1 sensor 1 O2 sensor, correct? Doing some reading and it seems like air/fuel and O2 are used interchangeably to describe the same thing with regards to the sensor before the cat

Some will refer to it as such even though it is technically incorrect as a O2 generates 0-1v and can only read in .1v deviations. Hence "narrowband" whereas a AFR sensor is a more accurate sensing substrate and generates a 0-5v signal that can be read in .1v deviations allowing for essentially 50 increments... Or "wideband". They are not interchangeable so make sure you're ordering the right thing, but some folks use the old name because it became commonplace

Ok cool, I just meant interchangeable as far as how some people refer to it but yeah I wouldn't want to order the wrong part on accident by not calling it the right thing. I have the proper Denso part number handy for the air/fuel sensor specifically.

Oddly enough...I juat started up my truck to pull it into the driveway and the freakin code cleared itself. Truck can't make up is mind but hopefully it's just a sign of the ground issues that Im going to work on now.

Aaaand I found the problem you guys

    20190317_140640.jpg

The fucking terminal connector is sliding over and hitting the metal battery bracket and making a shit ton of sparks lol.

Explains the zapping sound I was getting and why it only happens when the truck makes a hard turn or bounces around

    Case closed

Yeah yeah lol. Gonna just pull that bracket off and find another battery tie down solution. Glad it was an easy issue to spot, showered myself in sparks when I went to scoot the battery over. Was like 'yup...that's the problem'

Also all that wiring is hokey. Get me measurements and we'll plan out a replacement kit for everything including the post connectors which I despise.

Too many trucks and mods to list.. check builds
Well got myself a tilt steering column for my tundra. Bonus was it had a clean leather wrapped grey wheel with steering controls and the correct spiral cable to put in the taco. Double win for 40 bucks
