Got ya. Mine is mounted on the floor because of the space removing the stock bins freed up. Pic on page 1 as the example for double cab.

    Thanks!

I saw that pic, but was hoping to see multiple guns hanging. I've got a tactical case with Velcro straps through molle loops and I was thinking of doing something similar. If I could get 2 or 3 long guns mounted, with ammo cans on the bottom, it would make me more comfortable on long trips. I hate leaving rifle cases in plain sight.

I'll bet someone has done it. I think I've seen at least one with long guns mounted.

I agree with you, I would be concerned about leaving my rifles mounted there if they were visible from the outside. If someone looked in and decided they wanted them, it would be smash, grab and your weapons would be gone. Even if they were secured, you would still end up with a broken window and probably some damage to the weapons.

I don't like leaving a pistol in my truck, even when it is locked in a Gunvault tied off to the seat mounting.

Received mine a few days ago. Just primed and painted and waiting for it to dry, then I’m going to put edge seal on it.

My question is to those who have installed sound deadening. How many sq ft. did it require and what were your results. I’d like to keep it as quiet as I can just as a personal preference.

    Thanks man!

This is during the edge seal install. I think it gives it a decent “finished” look.

That looks great! I’m not worried about under the seats, so I’m assuming 10sq ft would be perfect. What brand did you use because I’d like to get some with no logo and black in color. Again, that looks good! Thanks

What is MLV? I’m of the same frame of thought, I’d like to do it once.

Mass Loaded vinyl (mlv). It’s just really dense vinyl. 1lb per sq ft. You can get heavier sheets if needed. It’s used to cancel out sound or absorb and redirect sound. There is a bunch of science/ sorcery behind it. It’s kind of unwieldy to work with because of its weight, but It cuts easily and you can bond sections together which hold up very well. I just followed https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/my-silver-gsu-build.460083/page-4
As a guide. He did a super job Documenting how to do everything. I just added the mlv on top of everything.

Got mine in the mail last week! Can't wait to get it in. Not super thrilled with all the burrs and sharp edges from the manufacturing process for the price though. Working at a machine shop both my boss and I questioned how it's was being made and why it wasn't laser or water jet cut then bent. It looks like everything is being stamped. This may have been cover but I haven't read the whole thread. It is definitely a usable part though, no question about that .IMG_20190318_191735_715.jpg IMG_20190318_192901185_BURST001.jpg

Ya looks like it's all punched. Looks like they don't have the right size for the small rectangles and so they have to do it in two punches which is what is leaving the burrs
