any one else out there keeping bees? I’m in my 4th year and have gone from 1 hive to now 13. One of the coolest things I’ve learned. Will be growing my apiary the next couple years.

Never got into Beekeeping yet however I had a swarm in one of my trees last summer and gave a local Beekeeper a call to come and get it and let me tell you he was certainly happy with this picking and how smooth it went.

I've been keeping bees for the past 6 years. Looks like you are enjoying it! They are fascinating creatures! Still too cold here for them to get out much, but we'll be there pretty soon.

I had just wanted to get in to it. I read a couple books and started watching couple YouTube videos dirt rooster and Jp bee man and me ed. Did alot of research and couldn’t make the jump, wife bought me the wood and I built my first hive and then found a keeper that sells bees nearby me and did it. I was very nervous at first, only thing I wish I had done is find a a beekeeper association that was close to me. I will say it can be a costly hobby but very cool, and still learning. I inspect my 13 hives 1 time a week takes about 2 hours if I putter around. During swarm season I go in every 5 days. It is very calming after a hectic shift.

    keeping jersey dirty
That's not bad, i pictured it needing attention daily like watering and weeding a garden but a couple hours a week sounds good. How costly does it get?

Yes that is a swarm around a Queen Bee looking for a "new" home there can only be one Queen per hive so it may have been a move out deal

Hive can go for 95-140 bucks but a starter kit to start is $287.90
    https://www.lappesbeesupply.com/10-frame-budget-colony-starter-kit-painted/

Bee for the hive unless you catch swarms
Nuc(5 frame of bees and queen $150-200)
Package (bee and queen 3 pounds $134-217)
    https://www.lappesbeesupply.com/3-lb-package-honey-bees-with-italian-hybrid-queen/
I bought my first bees then as I learned I split and grew my hives. I’ve lost hive as bees will leave (abscond) but it is Addictive

Yes that is next or me, actually a better pollinator then honey bee. You keep your bees in the house.

I use removeable trays and built houses for them , I harvest the cocoons in fall , wash and store them over the winter , put them out and start over again the next spring
