Yah... that tools kinda sucks. Once it turns around to a certain point it’s really hard to keep turning due to the space. Many use a 3/16” punch

    We’re you adding or decreasing?

    Workin' on it....

Holy cow. I love that tool. Made adjusting my 700lb coils easy as cake.

I'd call ADS and ask for a replacement - that has to be defective.

Got my ADS installed today and my tool felt like a piece of crap too. You could feel the end-pin starting to bend, and I had only used it for a handful of turns. Ended up using a punch which worked way better. Waste of $30.

Oh, and I had used your guys' recommendations for starting at 1" of exposed threads. I ended up with 4" of lift lol. Took the tires back off and spinned them back 3 rotations, now it's at a nice 2.5" after a tad of settling.

650 coils. Extended fronts. Clickers front and back. I'll post pics in a day or two.

You got 4” of lift with 1” of threads showing?!!

Bumpers must make a huge difference even the lo pro bumpers because I remeasured today and 1” of threads has given me 2”

    All the things!
1" of threads exposed or 1" of threads left?

Just to clarify... this symbol (") means inch, not feet...

    :D:thumbsup: just messing with ya

I don’t know how it’s possible he got 4” of lift. I called ADS and with threads fully maxed out you get 3.25” of lift

Installed shocks and cranked them to just a hair over 1" of exposed threads. Threw the tires back on. Drove into the driveway and slammed hard on the brakes a couple times to get the coils seated. Went back into the garage and measured hub/fender at 24". My wheels had so much positive camber is was comical. :notsure:

24” would be 3” since the front sit stock at 21” hub to fender.

The TRD PRO sits stock 21.5-22” hub to fender

4” would be 25” hub to fender

Those sound like turd-gen numbers. :boink:

My Bilstein 6112's (almost maxed out) sat at 22" when the day started. Then the truck shot to 24" with the initial setting of the ADS's. Both 650 lb coils. But I'm also under the impression that the ADS coils are an inch taller, per Headstrong.

I was trying to increase because I just installed a steel bumper so I was trying to get another inch of lift and I barely got one turn. I tried using a punch before but it started to deform the dollar and I was trying to avoid deforming it anymore.

I will probably contact them and see what they say, Love their customer service.

Yeah it does not feel like a very sturdy way of adjusting, I felt like it was gonna break when I was pulling and thought it has to be stronger than I think and then it snapped luckily the pin didn’t get stuck in the collar.

Talked to ADS about the spanner wrench and they don’t even suggest using the spanner wrench to adjust the coil overs. The guy suggested I use a spring compressor since there is around 1400lbs of pressure on these springs.

    Workin' on it....
I understand the CYA comment of using a spring compressor but geez, it shouldn’t frickin break. I’ve adjusted mine a few times with the truck jacked up and the suspension at full droop. Copious amounts of WD-40 on the threads of the shock body and no issues changing preload with the spanner.

    That sucks man.
