Yes that is correct. Just looking at alternatives to the MC as that seems to be the only built unit available today.

Why not just just build one yourself with TG plates and a donor box? Honestly building the case is probably one of the easier parts of installing duals

That is kinda my thought. And I would completely get rid of chain drive tcase and go with a gear driven one. Since I can't find an adapter to go back to either the tacoma/fj case after the doubler.

I didn’t realize TG didn’t make a gear drive to second gen chain drive adapter...bummer. Then your either into a verso or Atlas territory to keep your stock rear case. You could always put a first gen chain drive case in too...they are pretty cheap from yards.

Putting a gear driven case in wouldn't hurt my feelings either. I would like the ability to clock it some.

x2 I doubt the 2nd gen case is substantially stronger then the 1st gen tacoma chain drive. Just a slightly different bolt mounting pattern. Plus most guys with crawl boxes do away with the electronic 4x4 and go manual anyway which is what the 1st gen t cases mostly are.

I'll research more into the 1st gen case situation. But getting an old gear drive case doesn't seem too hard either.

Older gear drive cases are passenger drop. You need a driver drop case on IFS

Gotcha . So I need to figure out if the 1st gen case will hold up to the 4.0l then it would be on!!!! Less $$$$ and wait over a MC set up

It’s the same vf2a/b transfer case with a different pattern on the front to mate to the 750f trans

Good tip, but damn I hope that isn't it, lol. Although it doesn't sound unlikely. How did you diagnose that this was the problem? What adapter were you using? Mine's an Inchworm and I have it clocked at 15degrees.

Getting to the top of the tcase would be the best way to figure it out but probably not the easiest if you didn’t cut your floor. Then you can work the shifter base without the linkage and make sure the ball of the shifter is in the shift rail, and see if the rail is moving correctly. Otherwise you can play with the linkage length to see if that fixes it. No easy way otherwise.

I have an inchworm. And it was a guess that was the problem. The shifter wouldn’t budge at all and that’s the only reason why. Once i loosened the bolts and rotated it slightly I was able to shift it in low

I'm definitely thinking about cutting another hole in the floor and just patching it when I'm done adjusting linkage, and getting this thing to work.

That's what I did. Without a body lift and the triple sticks there is just no room for the linkage. I spoke with RADesign a couple of times through the install and he said a lot of people cut 2 one inch channels into the floor to make room for the linkage back to the stock t-case.

He mentioned that a couple of people said they were able to create enough clearance by using a Thor hammer from below but he thought that was highly unlikely without a body lift.
