    Hi guys,

Just wanna get feedbacks on Manual Transmission tacomas and how is everyone liking it? How does it perform offroads and is crawl control offering of the A/T really necessary? I have always been a M/T fanboi (coming from a subaru). Thank You!

M\T vs A\T means buy or don't buy in my opinion. Shifts great still slow AF they shoulda left the 4 liter in it for Gen 3.....love most everything else but the rumble strip vibration but it doesn't matter which trans you get for that you will likely still have it..

Wife loves her M/T. Only complaint I have with it is reverse could be geared lower. Only off-road has been some fire roads so far, but I’m sure it’s fully capable of more.

    No rumble strip vibes here.

Buy the MT. Don’t buy the auto.

If any small piece of you wants the manual, you’ll be filled with regret if you buy the auto.

ATRAC is just as good as crawl control and MTS.

I had an auto. I now drive a manual. Best trade I’ve ever made.

It’s comes with lower 6th gear and larger rear axle and 4.3’s from the factory. I like how it shifts. I’m not super picky though.

Drives great dont be afraid to really wind the gears in this truck since it's geared so low. Reverse could really be lower, I often find myself lugging the truck sometimes backing up. Off-road it's great, don't be afraid to use 4 low

I just bought a TRD Sport with MT. My dealer didn't have a manual in-stock, but I did test drive the auto version since I never really seen one in person. Dealer did a dealer trade, & when it arrived, he asked if I wanted to test drive it first. Told him no cause i only wanted the manual anyway & just wanted to get paperwork completed. So, I drove off the lot without a test drive. Love it & don't regret getting the manual.

The gears are exponentially better in the MT for this motor. With the MT, you can actually run 6th gear at 65+ lol

I’m also getting 2-4 mpg better on the highway than my auto ever did. Towing is about 5 mpg better

I love my MT. Its the only way to go with a SC. I would recommend getting a short shift installed as the shifts are super long stock.

Love my manual and the way it is geared. May mpg is crap but I like my lift with 33 inch tires. Decent get up and go for what the truck is. I just came from a Durango RT that had 365 hp and close to 400 tq I’m happy with my Taco

My '96 is a manual and was initially looking for a manual when purchasing my 2018 TRD Sport but after driving an auto and manual and comparing the manual to my '96, I went with the auto and have no regrets.

Test drove an off road and sport before I bought my sport MT. For all the regular driving I do, the sport was better for me. Found the first gear in the off road way to low...or at least seemed that way. Running 17x9 aftermarket wheels and stock sized tires, still getting 21-22 MPG combined driving.

The trans and diffs (4.30) are the same in both the OR and Sport

Came from a speed3 with a 6 puck so it took me around a week to get use to the clutch on TRD PRO but once I relearned the engagement point and mushyness I dig it. Looking forward to driving on the beach this spring. Get the MT
