Super delayed thank you to @Arcticelf , I posted on a ECGS Bearing forum last month and he reached out offering not just the bearing puller tool itself but to help install it if I drove down to his garage.

Long story short, got the job done with some amazing innovation along the way from Arcticelf and now my Tacoma drives much much better by replacing that OEM needle bearing with the ECGS bearing. TacomaWorld hands down has the most helpful group of invidivuals that I have yet to meet on any car forums. Thank you once again and look forward to meeting more members over the course of the year!

Nice! I remember when I met @Redmann “im probably not going to get into the offroad thing” was something along the lines of what he said. Then he went zero to 100 real fast.

If youre anything like any of us welcome to the money pit that is tacomaworld

Great meeting you and @Redmann as well! I couldn’t remember both of your usernames off the top of my head smh. I’ll make sure to reach out if I’m ever heading back down that way.

Thanks, did it all with a Swag Offroad finger brake, Swag Pipe Sized Dimple Dies and the Harbor Freight hydraulic punch kit. The punch comes in handy all the time. Fuck hole saws.

Having the battery in the back helps correct weight bias and now my coilovers are at the same preload. The 31 weights about the same as a synth winch too.

I have a stupid request: I’m wondering if someone more experienced with third gens could drive my truck for a little bit. Ever since my lift there is the tiniest of shimmies in the steering wheel from like 18-25 mph. It also doesn’t seem to go away in 4H. I’ve been wondering if an ecgs bearing replacement is something I should do for like a year now, but I kinda need a second opinion.

Did you put different wheels and tires on at the same time as the lift?

Mine did the same when I lifted and it either went away or I just stopped noticing. Other 3rd gens say you need to replace the bushing, some say the needle bearing, it depends

Nope. Tires were on for about 5-7k miles before the lift. Wheels are stock.

Yeah, the weird thing is, the alignment came in great, the truck tracks fine just a tiny vibration in a very specific speed. It’s so slight I’m just wondering if that’s just #liftedtacomaproblems.
